I'm not opposed to going out of state and I accept that I'll have to pay MSRP (not a penny over) to be able to order it. I think my local dealer is under new management and they are much much less customer focused. Their service dept is pretty good though.

NH only has 2 dealers in the area, otherwise I have to go behind the iron curtain of Mass.

Well if you're open to heading over state lines, to hell with Boston/NYC dealers, where I am sure you will deal with markups.

IIRC M3 Adjuster got his 1M @ MSRP by going to a smaller dealer in the Midwest...because they were happy to have the business. I think he was really diligent and called around a lot, but MSRP will be achievable if you're patient.

I'm getting a car from Texas for MSRP. The CA I've beed working with has been great and I actually had a deposit with him for a 2018 but circumstances changed. He gladly returned my deposit and we parted on friendly term. Circle around and my situation is favorable again, I gave him a call and I'm #3 at this dealer for MSRP. It will be a two day drive home but I'm looking forward to the trip with my 15 year old who will have his permit by then.....

But when order books open in june, what did you order then? Your dealers knows you want to buy the car, but thats it right?

Is it for sure that the US will get the official Price List during next 2 days ?
My German Dealer wrote me today, our Price List and Configurator has been postponed 1-2 weeks til end of May.
Has anyone heard similar or different from your dealers ?

Cheers

I'm in the first slot at my dealer for MSRP, and I am ready to order, for the most part, but not really in a rush. Honestly would love to hear a review or two from a couple of trusted critics first.

It will also depend on the price. If the increase over the current M2 is in line with what has been suggested, then I will go for it. My ceiling is $70k including CA tax, so I need to come in at $65k sticker for a 6Mt with no sunroof, and that better include the BBK, the M4 seats and hopefully the MP wheels, although that might be asking for too much.

Similar thought here as well. If buying new, it’s always nice to acquire some of the optional goodies. But at $70k, it gets pricey and yes “BMW should have already included it without charge”

You can probably start finding used M2s for $45k and still come out $20k less. It allows you to decide what you want to do with that $20k

I’ve been told it’s the 20th May to place orders on the M2 Competition, I don’t know if anyone else on here has the same information?

Yes, that is always an alternative. My wife gave me her blessings to get an M2C if I don't take on any car payments. A slightly used M2 would be a bit easier to manage in that regard, but I like the idea of having a more unique car and feel that over time the M2C will be more desirable, thus hold it's value better.

US pricing should be soon. But for now, take solace in the fact in Canada a fully loaded manual M2C is less than a stripper no option M3. US M3 starts at $66.5k. You’ll be fine on your budget.

Isn't the tax rate ~9.25%?

I think to realistically be at or under $70k, the MSRP will need to be below $63k as there are fees ect. Keep my numbers honest and correct me if I'm wrong.

US will have different standard equipment, so its hard to really do an apples to apples comparison. Just doing some dirty math, from numbers we have to work with at the moment. Canada got a 9.2% increase in msrp, which incluldes 788M wheels, seats, 2NH brakes, Carplay, Adaptive LED. US-N55M2 54,500 + 9.2%(manual, wheels, seats, brakes) = 59,515. Plus ttl and fees, 59,515 + 9.25% + 500= 65,520.

Finally got a hold of someone who is passionate about the program at my local dealer. He said no one, absolutely no one has expressed interest in the M2C and ordering it so he's glad I'm up for the order and will help with the process 100%.

Pretty happy about this now.

When BMW tells posters on this board that they read and follow this board closely. I am always a little amazed at how posters give BMW 'atta boys' on pre-pricing. We should all complain and bargain a little with BMW.....

People were thanking BMW for only raising Canadian prices 10%.

I predict there will be decent availability of this car within a few months of launch, unlike the M2. A lot of people who wanted an M2 urgently already bought one, and IMO the upgrades do not justify swapping cars for most owners.

I have had my name down and deposit placed for a couple of months. My dealer has a spec from me and will hopefully be placing an order the day the order books are opened. I’m on the UK south coast. I’m borrowing an M2 DCT from them for 24 hours on Thursday/Friday this week just to see what the DCT box is like but i’ll probably order a 6 MT as I’m a fan of three pedals.
