Phone mount!?
Hey guys,
I have been driving mine since last year without phone mount. I need one the decision was not easy.. and still sin't. I initially wanted get one from Proclip as I figure it is sturdy and refined. However, it kinda bothers me the fact that i have to purchase another anchor if i change my phone (there are 2 parts for this mount. One is for the actual mounting part that goes on ur dash which you don't have to change until you change your car. But the actual phone adaptor that goes on this anchor, which is more expensive, will need to be changed when you change your phone). I wish not to have something that goes around cupholder area as i only have one available due to MPE BT remote and don't want to look down and distract my driving. CD slot holder and vent clip ones are known to damage the plastics of the car over time (maybe i am too much concerned about this while it does not do any damage) and wish that i can have my full vision of the windshield so also want to avoid something that sticks on the windshield (hard right?? Lol) So i am here to open to hear any of you guys suggestion and reviews of your phone mounts and advise me before i actually make decision on my purchase. Any pictures or link that shows the actual product will be much appreciated!! Thanks in advance all! Cheers. |

1) Kuda Base Mount 2) Then buy the ProClips attachment for your specific phone. Then install it yourself. Takes a whopping 15 minutes to install. For the cable, I lifted up the carbon center, and drilled a small hole on the forward side (inside) my arm rest, ran the cable in the space below. 15 minutes, start to finish. |

Not sure if there is a Canadian or US supplier for these but the are BY FAR the best phone mounts I have used:
https://megamount.co.uk They are purely magnetic so you stick the supplied thin (but very strong) magnet to the back of your phone and it just clings to the mount, even through a phone case. Even very hard track driving and monstrous UK potholes do not cause it to fall off. |

How or where exactly did you run the cable from the USB to the front?

The Scosche mount comes with 3M tape...and I've had no issues with stability of the phone during normal or spirited street driving....the magnetic mount is pretty strong. Keep in mind if I'm on the track I'll put my phone in the arm rest or glove box though...

I have MPE remote sitting in one of cup holder and only have one remaining. So I wish to keep that space for my drink occasionally. Furthermore, I want the phone to be mounted at eye level. Kinda dangerous to look down while driving IMO. But thanks for your suggestion. |

The only thing it really blocks and doesn't block it completely is the passengers heated seat button from the passenger is point of view, if that makes sense. |
