It's an offensive term I admit. But in this case I use it to mean over-the-top financial recklessness, regardless of how rich the owner is.

And the price is typically arbitrary, it's just a number. When someone like him purchases something they want it, when they ask the price it's usually just to know how much to put on their card or wire the funds.

I don't get people sometimes, if they guy wanted a special color (not in the standard color palette) and he was willing to pay for it as he goes for crazy colors it's his choice, that's why it's called...

This is the truth. I deal with this all of the time at Audi. The upper 1% just want something exclusive in most cases and it doesn't come down to the cost. I get the "have people ever done this before" question with them. More power to them!

Has BMW manufactured any M2's with paint to sample (that's a porsche term, not sure what BMW calls it).

My own personal opinion, that's one of the worst colors for a car I've ever seen. There's an AY M3 that I drive by regularly. Great looking car, but the color is just not for me.

I guess it is distinctive.

Im not a fan of the color, but I didn't buy it. Good for him. Its different than any of the other hundred cars he has. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it and in this case, $100k. It suits him well. He likes ostentatious colors.

Nothing against the M2, but those cars in his collection are on a whole different level. it would be like me deciding to add an 85 Chrysler LeBaron to my garage. Or perhaps a Cadillac Cimmeron. Why????
Because OG M2 is better than those meaningless supercars??!! Duh!!!

I like this color. Would I drive it? Probably not, but I can appreciate its uniqueness. I could say I like it more than Phoenix Yellow that came on the E46 M3. Austin Yellow gives off a more gold look in certain light.
