This is one confused article. It also looks like the same pictures that were of the pre-prod models & test drives early in the year....

This article is click bait. The cars they are referring to is the fleet of pre-production cars that were traveling all over the country in a basic euro spec. Several of those cars ended up at the performance centers to get good use out of them. Pre-production vehicles don't end up getting sold so the manufacture has to destroy them or find non consumer uses of the cars. I doubt we will see that spec in the USA. But then again what do I or for that matter Road and Track know about what BMW will or won't do. My issue with the article is that it's not based on facts just conjecture. Journalism is dead and this is a minor example of that fact.

Mine M2 was purposely spec-ed that way(Europe).

But I'm surprised that there is over 40 pounds in weight saving!

Bucket seats - LOL standard non electric ones here. Manual seats
DCT - An added feature of ClubSport...ok cool
Basic iDrive - That is news to me, uk only gets Pro Nav
