Feedback for BMW USA on the M2C

Hey guys,

Got a call on Friday from BMW USA asking for feedback on the M2C. Seems they are soliciting comments from owners. Don't know if it really will move the needle or not, but if you're an owner and they haven't contacted you yet, you might consider giving them a call to share your thoughts.

866-293-8455

They look you up in the system, verify you're an owner, then you can get up on your soapbox.

Here's what I told them:

* Put in a simple button that disables auto rev match on 6MT - most folks getting the 6MT want to heel and toe, and it should be a very simple / low cost software implementation

* Keep producing 6MT because it differentiates the brand as for classic driving enthusiasts

* Make more color choices available, especially individual

* Make all MP parts factory-installed options

* Paint the muffler matte black at the factory

Good luck, guys. Hopefully our community feedback will have some effect and move them in the direction we'd like!

I dont care about blindspot but i know people want it in a 2 series.
If I pop the trunk I'd like it to open up all the way for me,
You nailed the black muffler, the performance parts from the factory.
I'd KILL to have this car in Red with a nice biscuit or beige interior.
but color isn't really a huge deal. I'd just love to have it.
I wish I could've gotten manual seats in the US but realistically that'd be a silly choice for bmw to even bother with in the US.
As for the rev matching, I love it. I think a button for it being turned on and off would be neat but i know I'd never touch it.

Thanks for trying but that call was to inquire about your overall satisfaction and mainly rate the dealer on your purchased of the vehicle in something they call a CSI - Customer Service Index.

None of your suggestion are going back to BMW AG or their engineers. But it's a good way to get the dealer to fix an issue they a reluctant to otherwise do, as they are rated by the manufacture.

Care to explain? My guess is you went out with stock camber, stock brakes and the car didn't turn in that well, you killed the outside of your front tires, boiled the brake fluid and smeared pad material all over your rotors causing vibrations..

This is an hilarious misunderstanding!

I think I can answer on nomoracin's behalf. He didn't mean "tracking" as in taking the car to race on a track. What he meant was tracking the build process via the MyBMW site and then trying to follow the car's progress on a ship across the ocean.

LOL. Yes, cptobvious is correct! Haha

MyBMW website was really off especially after taking ED. They marked it as "delivered" which technically is correct, but they never reverted the status back to the point where it's ready to ship across the ocean.

BMW Genius folks were nice, but their data wasn't ever up to date. Some say that they are like 2 days behind, but it felt like even more than that in my experience.

My SA is super cool and provided me screen shots whenever I asked, but unfortunately it was just in this mystery state of "work order open" for 3 weeks.

Somebody here has a "sticky" on how to track your car that helped out tremendously, but it did have its limitations.

It would be so nice if they could just centralize all the tracking into 1 site with up-to-date automated statuses. I don't feel like that should be that hard with today's technology.

True - the MyBMW website is completely useless for tracking the car shipment. And I agree the 'Genius' line folks are nice but don't have up-to-date tracking info - and I found them to be utterly clueless how the ED shipping process works. Best resource for that is BMW NA Special Sales, who saved my sanity when I flipped out upon hearing from my CA that my car was being shipped from Jersey City VPC to the Baltimore VPC rather than my local dealer. BMW NA were the ONLY ppl who could explain that!

It was their customer feedback team that works closely with their designers. They wanted feedback on my M2C. Since I'm always deployed and barely drive it FML, I couldn't say much more than get rid of that ridiculous cow udder. They gave me their information and asked me to provide more feedback once I get more time behind the wheel.

What would you guys/gals have said???

My main comment was that I love the car but that I think it's a bit foolish that wanting a smaller car means having to also get lower-rent interior materials and losing access to useful stuff like the HUD. Frustrates me industry-wide.

I’d ask them to build the car to allow for a proper width wheel and tire to allow maximal use of the amazing S55 engine. 305 width Cup 2s at least. Otherwise, keep up the great work.

What's the maximum width tires front and rear the car can support stock?

It’s pretty much maxed out if you want to match the OEM diameter. You can fit 265 / 295 max I think I’ve seen but there may or may not be rubbing if you’re at stock ride height.

Allow to order the goddamn car with a carbon roof, get rid of the crappy massive exhaust, wider wheels, proper leather in the car, and HUD.

Massive udder exhaust has to go, otherwise the car is good, I have no other complaints.

ASD. It’s easy to turn off, but embarrassing that BMW consider it a good idea.

In an ideal world, make that rear exhaust look tidier, and a bigger fuel tank. But I appreciate it’s the baby M so there are technical and economic compromises.
