No personal proof. While speaking with a local tuner I was explaining how I wanted a 6MT. However, I was likely going DCT because of tuning potential with the S55. He said don't worry about it. The 6MT is actually holding up better in stock form than the DCT, which is requiring new clutches. This was in the context of an S55 with just a tune. After seeing what he had done with his m4, m5, m6, and x5m I was inclined to believe him.

Agree, I was surprised to see a big space where the muffler could actually sit. Like he said in the video, if BMW had just directed the pipes into that space you wouldn't see the udders. I don't know if it is possible from an exhaust engineering perspective having a 90 degree bend in it though

Tuning is a whole other can of worms. Maybe the DCT can't handle the extra power from a tune, then again it was never tuned to do so. With a MT you have more control and maybe that's why, but that's not to say it's meant to take the abuse or that it won't break. For instance, you can make more power out of the OG M2 n55 with a tune. BMW however doesn't look at things that way. They instead gave the M2c the s55, because it has better cooling and can reliably make higher power and they must be able to warranty it. Yes, they detuned the one in the M2c, but it still makes considerably more power than the n55. And on top of that, we all know the s55 has plenty of headroom to give the M2cs more power from simple tuning, because it was designed with that in mind.

And thank goodness it didn't. Perhaps I'm getting old, but I need the lumbar support. If you look in the F80/82 forums, you see people with low back pain trying to improvise all sorts of pillows and cushions to make up for it. The holes certainly look cool, but they are not practical. Perhaps they suit a CS/CSL, but I'm surprised BMW made that compromise for the F80/F82 ZHP.
My kids will probably kick me thru those holes... but I still Want them.

They certainly aren't as comfortable as my old F80's non-zcp seats. They do hug you a little more.

It's an M2 CS test mule. No production version. Take a closer look at the stitching color difference:

I actually like those 1m seats lol. Personally I'm indifferent on the interior. I feel that the OG interior is equal to my M2C. CF hood, CF roof and carbon bits are great add ons, and this will be a great car. But I feel sad for the timing of its release...

Can confirm you're old. ZCP seats are the most comfortable seats I've been in.
Not all bodies are the same. I find the non-ZCP seats in to be the most comfortable across the "3" line including the X3 and F30. The ZCP Seats in 2nd. The F3X and F8X cabrio seats are the most uncomfortable in all modern BMWs.

Its all good, let the people have their manuals, eventually all manuals will be phased out for automatics, there is nothing more to gain from manual gearboxes, sure it's a nice feeling to be shifting on your own but it dosn't justify the drop in 0-60 times, the drop in MPG nor the drop in driving accessibility for BMW in whom they can reach with their products.

Overall the automatic is a better package then the manuals, but the manuals have a certain feel to them by shifting your self but it just isn't worth it anymore sens loads of people do city driving most of the time, then manuals are the worse choice.

That's the one thing i disliked about my 235 was the city driving experience with a manual or when in huge traffic congestion shift to 1-2 2-1 1-3 3-1 rinse and repeat that was the worst part.

Looks like a big dong as the shifter. Explains the love of manual. LOL
Car looks dated and old before even released.

LOL here we go again. You're the one that said its udder made it look dated to which I replied that the new unreleased M3 has it as well. You're a troll.

First of all, this car is based on the F series platform, so you would expect it to share the same blueprint and some parts with the current series.

It's not "dated," it's continuity.

Also, if they did build a new car from scratch, with unique parts to match, it would have to be reflected in the price tag in order for it be worthwhile to them. I'm sure all this is was factored in by people smarter than any naysayer on the internet.

I'm happy they're actually making a king-of-the-hill M2 CS, as almost a homage to the F87's success and a vehicle to showcase the pinnacle of the 2 series platform, before its drives off into the sunset..

Man I'm glad I held off on Competition model. My local dealership has been bugging me for 2 months now to trade mine in on the one that's been sitting on their showroom floor. Hopefully it will have 7.0 iDrive?
