List of Dealers NOT marking up M2 Competition!

So, maybe the better tack than "blacklisting" dealerships who are marking up is to take the high road.

There's enough negativity in the world these days without us adding to it, so I propose the following:

Instead of calling out the dealerships that are applying a markup, how about we promote the good ones who are selling at or below MSRP and who support other incentives like ED?

So I'll start with a shout out to my local dealership who supports ED with M cars (when I got on the list for the M2C the GM said he thinks that wold be a great car to do an ED with) and who, to the best of my knowledge, does not mark up beyond MSRP.
They are:

South Shore BMW in Rockland, MA.

I have a deposit at MSRP with Paul Miller BMW in Wayne New Jersey. Really good experience and process when dealing with them about putting the deposit down, they were no nonsense.

I didn't ask about ED.

Keep 'em coming, guys, we're doing a public service here!

Let's reward the dealerships that treat us better than a walking, talking cash machine.

Some of the dealers will never learn. A couple of the dealers that marked up the M4GTS are still sitting on brand new unsold GTS's. Now they can't give them away for under $100k.

Every new M car, same dealers...same practice.

Great idea! I'm on the list for both BMW of El Cajon and BMW of San Diego. I will update when I hear more information from them about pricing. They've both verbally expressed to me that they will not be selling above msrp, but I won't know for certain until I can actually order.

I am on the list at Downtown Denver, they ensured me they never charge over MSRP. They have not taken a deposit yet though.

So how does the ordering really work? When the ordering window opens up for the US, do all dealer get allocations or they wait for their turn? Meaning one might be #1 at their dealer and could be #3 at different dealer, is it possible that #3 gets their car first?

That is my understanding and what has been communicated to me. Basically, most dealers I talked to are expecting at least one. Others like BMW of San Diego have said they expect to receive multiple. But as there's no concrete information, I believe it's all up in the air atm.

Totally possible. Not every dealer will receive an allocation when the order bank is open. High volume dealers tend to get early and more frequent allocations than small dealers. As you pointed out, being #3 at a high volume M dealer might end up getting you an allocation sooner than being #1 at a smaller dealer that doesn't sell many M cars in a year.

I really like the intent of this thread, awesome to see,

.....but unfortunately its futile, most if not all dealers, at least in California will have markups....and they will not budge.

Someone with more money then sense will pay that "market adjustment".

I mean look at the current people who are willing to lose money on a current M2 trade up.

Lots of people will have to wait over a year to even get MSRP....which still isn't even a deal.

Following up on the previous question about ordering. If you order a car, does that mean price negotiation is out of the window as well?

Do you have to buy in California? Why can't you buy from an out of state dealer that sells at MSRP? I guess if you have to buy local, that takes options away. I have not bought from a local BMW dealer for a long time. Houston BMW dealers are trash, with the exception of maybe one now. I've consistently received 3-5% lower prices not buying from my local dealers.
