So over in Australia, things don't seem as dire.
My friend placed his order end March for a regular DCT M2 and his was already built about a week ago - and was being sent to the shipping firm for a delivery in June. I placed my order a week ago for a "Pure" M2 which was sans electric/memory/heated/lumbar seats, sans Comfort Access, sans Dynamic bixenon headlights, sans Harmon Kardon, sans Alarm - things I could live without. You do get the bog standard bixenon, and standard stereo. And only available in Manual. I've been told I should get a build date this month for delivery in July. They are accepting LCI orders for a July build - at 3k more than what I was offered. And to expect delivery in September. Over in Australia, summer starts at the end of the year but this is a daily drive so I'm expecting to drive it through our mild winters and spring too. The only thing the dealer would commit to for the LCI was: LED headlights and tail lights. Aren't our tail lights already LED? He did mention they would have new "swoosh" or something like the tail lights of the new 5 series. My wife's 125i M Sport was just delivered - coincidentally last week. This does have LED headlights and you know what, it does seem to have a wider coverage (and maybe a smidge brighter) than my old bixenon cars but nothing I'd miss terribly. I do wonder though if LED headlights are lighter than bixenons because of the ballasts needed in the latter? That might be one small benefit of the LEDs. The other area I am wondering was for there to be a way to disable the Auto Blip on the manual in the LCI. Other than that, I'd just save the $3000. |

Actually I have the same dilemma now. The dealer mentioned that the discount offer the he made is only for the non LCI. So with a lower discount and with a price jump of approx 1k euros I'm looking at spending 3k+euros on the LCI changes which I'm not 100% sure it's worth.
Or maybe the LCI will feature other changes on the inside like Android auto support (which is btw stupid not to have in 2017). Do you think the resell value will be much bigger on the LCI over years? I have no experience in BMWs reselling |

Apart from LED headlights and tail lights (hoping that the latter can be retrofitted), I don't think there is much else in the LCI update right?

I saw on the nhtsa website that for the 4er series the LED headlights are not necessary a step forward from the HIDs.
I really really don't know what to do and it's driving me crazy . |

BUT - there are also claims those cars are CS/GTS variants - might explain the "Bane" mouthguard on the front bumpers that hide a more aggressive front bumper. So the dashboard covers might be for an Alcantara cover for the dash? |

Can't wait for them to actually release the details instead of pages and pages of speculation.

I don't see how that's possible since there's no MY18 price sheet

When you say "ordered", do you mean you put down a deposit? I've have a deposit down. I spec'd a MY2016 at the time so it went on the system. They said nothing else will happen until it's available at which time I will go back and spec it again.

Same here. The factory program that they are using is not allowing them to order from July on. The dealer moved progressively the allocation date and when it tipped to July the ordering was not available.
