PCD or Not?

We are already doing ED, but wondering if it's worth waiting an additional 4 weeks for shipping to do PCD?

Thoughts?

If you’ve not done it before, PCD is a hoot. You do a braking exercise, mini-autocross, and wet skidpad. This is all done in a car similar to what you are takng delivery of (all DCT, though). They take you out on an abbreviated version of their off-road course in some X3s, where you’ll execute some seemingly impossible manuvers. You may get to tour the factory. We didn’t when we went last year; speculation was they were retooling for the X7. We did get to tour the factory museum, where they have some significant BMWs on display (including at the time, the restored Elvis 507!). You break for lunch, then a product specialist will go over the features of the car with you.

Even though we did it with our current car last year, we plan on doing it again with the M2C.

I mean, I know it'll be fun and the experience will be great, but I'm already so eager to pick up my m2c...waiting an additional 4 weeks for PDC just sounds so unbearable. Haha

If I wasn't already doing ED, then it would be a no brainer to do PDC.

Also, I may get another shot at PDC when my wife orders her x3/x5.

In that case, I’d skip the PCD this time around.

I'm doing it with the M2C.

For the M2 I did PCD only because timing wasn't right to go to Europe.

This time I am doing both.

Reason is mainly to have it in SC to do paint protection work on it with the guys that do all my detailing work.

I would do it again without giving it a second thought!

Lots of ppl like it - I skipped it since I could not stand waiting longer for re-delivery, plus [without a PCD delay] my car arrived a mere week before nasty winter weather started here in MD (stupid snow & road salt came 3 or 4 weeks earlier than normal last Dec. ).

That's what I'm thinking too.

Any ideas as to why it even takes 4-6 weeks longer to ship PCD after ED?

Not sure - scheduling maybe? I'm sure others will know.

Unlike US deliveries that can be scheduled when the vehicle enters production, a ED re-delivery at the Performance Center cannot be scheduled until the vehicle arrives at the port of entry and clears customs. By that time it is usually 2-6 weeks before they can accommodate the re-delivery.
