If you saw my earlier post on this topic, you would see that I owned a M235i for fours years before buying my M2. I had one of the first M235i. So I have lots of experience and stated so in my previous post.

What I said also was if people don’t know what an M car is, then you can’t brag about it to them. And most people have no idea what an M2 is. Now if you had a Ferrari that would be a different story.

Yes I saw that. Was only responding to your question to Sinnillis or whatever he calls himself.

Do you track your m235i? No? Stick with the car.
Do you plan to track the M2? No? Stick with the car.

Personally, I think its way too costly for the difference in vehicle. Buying new, choosing M2 over 235/240 seems a no brainer but you will take a big hit on the 235. I have owned 2 "real" M cars and they are edgier and lots of fun. Is an M2 two really worth 1.5 times the price of the current car you drive only on weeksnds and LOVE ? Only u can answer that.

Figure your 235 to be worth 30-35 as a trade to a dealer and likely spending 60k on the M2.

For 60K, if you need a new ( different) weekend warrior there are used Porsches ( Boxster, Cayman, 911) out there, too. Why not try some alternative vehicles before considering a very expensive incremental move.
Thanks. Perhaps I will hang onto it and see what the new M2 Competition ends up looking like.
I think you might as well wait until they show the m2 competition in April

Keep in mind that the S55 will probably be $6-8k more then the current M2. Perhaps you could find a slightly used M2 to trade for?

Once the current M2's are gone, if the new S55 version is more $$$, it's going to put getting an M2 even further out of your grasp!

I never owned a 235i, but I did test drive one at my BMW dealership, and then went straight into an M2, and while the 235 was a blast to drive, the difference was obvious.

I ordered an M2.
