[QUOTE=wilson kop;29781423]I quoted you directly but you're so blinded with expert rage it's your comprehension that's broken. Being a twat is my thing. Get your own shtick.
Listen sunshine I was providing lesser experienced folk safety information I have been privy to over the years as an official & actual first hand knowledge of the products concerned. If that helps just 1 person I’ve accomplished something worthwhile. Likewise if people wish to ignore it I’m fine with that too. Regardless, let’s be perfectly honest here, as with multiple posts of yours I’ve seen in multiple threads, your intention is always to be a smart-arse, unfortunately you don’t have the first part of that intention covered off (ie…smart). You’re a troll…plain & simple. Congrats you just made my ‘ignore’ list (thus save your usual reply as I won’t see it).🙄

so after some research seems like the ABEs will not work for me, definitely max 5'10, I guess its all about torso but I don't have a short torso, its not long either but the PP Abes will probably not work, for taller people you need the Sparco SPGs (XLs for a porky guy like me), these look nice too but don't seem to come in leather so that is kind of a bummer.

TargaM2 thank you for your input on safety, I appreciate it. I have researched a lot about it because it is definitely something I want to take serious. For this season I would like to go with a good seat that is relatively safe with a 3 point belt and getting a hybrid S Hans (I don't want to mess with my neck, I spun the car last year and my neck was fucked for 2 weeks). Eventually I will go half cage and only then will do harness, don't really want to mess with harnesses that connect to seatbelts (reasons you mentioned and also there is not one that has been tested with the M2, sure maybe there are some that work from other cars but not gonna play with that)

Alright folks - just received the first seat. I'm not sure why, but one of the packages was sent via a different, longer shipping route even though both packages were shipped at the same time. I expect to receive the second seat here within the week. Shipped via DHL and then transferred to USPS for final delivery.
Needless to say, I'm super impressed by the Recaro ABE's. Quality seems great. I bought these blindly, after sitting in a friend's Recaro Pole Positions but FIA version. The ABE's are a little wider in the hip area than the FIA's (which is not great for me, since I'm a pretty small guy), but I can live with it. I knew there were going to be certain trade-offs with getting a seat that could do both a 3-point and 6-point harness. Cannot recommend this vendor enough. He was very responsive, packaging was good, and shipping was way faster than I anticipated. He quoted me ~4 weeks, but first seat came in less than 2 weeks. It does help that I live on the East Coast and these are getting shipped from Germany. Pics below, can't wait to get these installed. Looking to pair them with Brey Krause brackets with OEM sliders to retain the power seat functions. All-in-all, I paid ~$2100 for the Artificial Leather/Dinamica version. Roll Bar from OG Shark: |

These look fantastic and at a reasonable price. I'm adding them to my shortlist!
How much lower thigh side support do they give, given the taper to the front? |

they look great. I'd love a measurement of where the harness holes sit. I am pretty sure I am too tall for these but who knows maybe I have a short torso.
I was looking at the SPG XLs from the same vendor but because they have been recalled I think recaro still have not released a new one |

I’m 5’11 so these will fit perfectly with the harnesses about 1-2in above my shoulders. |

I also think recaro makes a thinner cushion as well in case it border line works. I need something more like 27in so not even close (I am 6’1 so was not expecting it to work) Thanks for measuring gopropham |

My Nogaro's just arrived and they measure ~27" without compressing the seat cushion.

Finally got the seats mounted and installed. Keeping the OEM power sliding function was a pain, but well worth it.
Setup = Recaro Pole Position ABE’s + Brey Krause Side Mounts. For anyone that’s wondering, here are the full part numbers for the BK setup: 2x - BK Sub Strap Mount (BK Part Number: R-9259) 2x - BK Seat Mounts (BK Part Number: R-9281) 1x - BK Passenger Side Lap Belt Mount (BK Part Number: R-9288) 1x - BK Driver Side Lap Belt Mount (BK Part Number: R-9289) 4x - BMW Socket Contact ELO-Power (BMW Part Number: 61130056965) 4x - BMW Pin-Contact Elo- Power (BMW Part Number: 61136901733) 2x - BMW E30 Window Switch (Part Number 61311381205) (I used aftermarket brand MT, make sure you remove the bulbs) 14 guage wire (I think I ended up using 16 guage, but everything works fine) The seating position is slightly off centered (as mentioned from some previous threads). Not enough to bother me but I’ve heard you can mix/match the narrow BK sliders with the wider ones to get a good fit. Along with some thicker washers, you should be good. I also ended up blowing the fuse for the driver side seat while installing this (it’s a 30 amp fuse located in the engine bay, easy to replace, fuse #67/68 for driver/passenger). |
