So I ran my M2 at the Glen this week. I cut 4 seconds off of my best ever lap time
in my old 235i. The car is bone stock for now and it is neutral compared to my 235i which tended to understeer even with a square setup with RS3s.

I assume by "picked up" the OP actually means "lost" in terms of time.

OP: do you actually use TTY? The last time I saw that icon on an iPhone it was somebody who had accidentally managed to turn on the feature and had no idea what it meant... (the phone + keyboard icon up by the battery).

I edited my post to rephrase this - I reduced my lap time by 4 seconds....

no way man.. My M235 with a tune will SMOKE your M2..

LOLZ. I am TOTALLY KIDDING!

it's seriously tough to justify going from a non M up to an M when you have purchased the non M version first. PROPS.

I think I mentioned that the car is bone stock - no mods at all. The track was relatively cold (55 degrees) which is good for the turbo but not so good for handling.

Was it a BMW car club sponsored event?

Fixed.
And.. I'm Sorry... for both you and your M2.

I live in TEXAS and I have gone from here to WGI for Ofest 2009.

I highly recommend you rectify this rectal-ness.

Yes - this event was run by three bmw clubs - NY, Del Val and Patroon.

I'm not really sure what a good lap time is at the Glen. My old 235i ran a 2:22 lap and the M2 ran 2:18. I timed a Porsche GT4 at 2:12 this weekend.

How did stock pads behave throughout the day? No fading? Do you feel you've still got life left in them for the street? I have an event coming up in a few weeks and also planning to go with stock pads and fluid. Will bring an extra set with me however. I'm a novice so hoping stock would be ok for one track day.

My 2016 M2 with Pilot Super Sport did a 2:12 flat.

The stock pads left deposits on the rotors so they have a lumpy feel. I'll need to clean them soon.

I'd love to go on a race track. What steps do I have to take in order to go drive on the Glen?

Simple - sign up for an event on Motorsportreg.com. BMW clubs run great events. Also look into Audi clubs. They both run numerous and safe events at the Glen.
