Very reasonable consideration . . . 'better' is COMPLETELY INDIVIDUAL. All I can do is take a F87 M2C we ALL seem to enjoy immensely and share how the G80 M3C compares from MY perspective. . . I will NEVER try to convince anyone that one or the other is 'better' for them. ///AVM |

I'm thinking of stopping at my local dealer today to see the front of the 4 in person. They have a few of them on the lot. It hasn't been a deal breaker for me, even if I don't like the way it looks...after all, we spend more time looking at the inside of our cars than the outside. |

IMO I see too much of an overlap between owning both a F87 and a G80/82 M. There is some slight caveat. I guess if you want a "family" car, then maybe you can add the G80. But if both of the cars are primary YOUR car, it is way too similar...Now, have a M2C and a Z4 m40i, now we're talking. Two completely different use cases all available to you

From the perspective of offering a visceral driving experience, I doubt the G80 M3C and F87 M2C will be much different than what I perceived between the F87 M2C and 718 CGTS. I really have no business dumping the M2C for a M3C . . . but simply want to experience the BMW icon first-hand at least once. I do not think BMW engineers will disappoint. ///AVM |

On a side note, I was viewing the new 992 GT3 video with Chris Harris and Andreas Preuninger before my post here. There was so much passion shown from AP on DNA, genes, the ongoing task of test driving past GT3s to make sure the good bit stays onto the next generation...etc The 992 GT3 grown slightly in size, got more power but remains at roughly the same weight with its predecessor is mightily impressive. |

I do not believe many would argue with my stating that nobody does sport cars better than Porsche . . . yes, Andreas is VERY PASSIONATE about Porsche sport cars, including preserving the 'DNA.' 718 CGTS was the best sport car I have ever owned. . . then the M2C stepped into my life and I realized that - at least currently - a sporty coupe/sedan better suits my spirited daily driving interests. I will get back to the Porsche lineup, possibly a 911 variant such as the GT3 . . . for now, however, I am enjoying the hell out of what BMW has to offer. ///AVM |

Brothers
Just want to make clear that I have no intentions of devaluing the M2C through my exploration of the G80 M3C. I want to take MY passion for the M2C and see how it translates with the G80 M3C. It is my sincere hope that others with a passion for the F87 M2C will benefit from sharing my G80 M3C experience. For now, I anticipate my dealership getting chassis allocation any day, then formalize my build . . . the waiting game will then commence over anticipated 2-4 month period. I will update when appropriate. For now, going to continue to enjoy the hell out of my beast. ///AVM |

Oh, I don't know JC . . . maybe $150-200K !!!!!
You seem to think the money you like to spend of mine grows on trees. However, this does bring up a good point about the financial tipping point where cost overrides the enjoyment factor. I am not going to be flippant and say $65K for a new M2C is pocket change. However, it's an amount that gives ME zero concern about wear & tear; my lack of interest in aesthetic maintenance; etc. . . I'm going to beat on it hard for a period of time, then turn it in for the next new toy. Conversely, there comes a price point where I feel uncomfortable pounding on a machine in a manner I find most enjoyable. . . cost of a new 911 model is where my enjoyment factor starts to get impinged upon. ///AVM |

You and talk a lot, so you know the answers to your questions. For our forum brothers . . . If I wanted a Porsche, I would have one. . . if I wanted a Miata, I would have one. I wanted an M2C and got one . . . LOVE IT!!!! I want a G80 M3C and will get one. I am not a tracker. Nor do I any longer live in the rural and wide-open twisty roads of North Carolina. . . prime Porsche hunting grounds. Now in Daytona Beach, I consider myself a HIGHLY SPIRITED DAILY DRIVER always looking for another enthusiast up for a game of roadway chase. . . the beast is a formidable predator! Wonder how the M3C will compare? ///AVM |

has anyone considered tuning the F87 M2C , 50 to 60 hp gain would make the beast incredibly powerful and would not need to be upgraded to G80

There's always a a tipping point for cars that get tuned with too much power where the chassis balance doesn't quite support it in the way you would expect. I don't know if the M2C chassis is as razer sharp at turn in and or corner exit with high amounts of power. For some wanting straight line speed, that may not matter. For me, it's all about balance. The numbers you're suggesting aren't high at all so I wouldn't be concerned increasing power at all, especially since CS/M3/M4 variants use the same S55 platform.

Regardless, I think the M2C is actually has too much power. My wheels are constantly spinning. May also be due to the winter tires I just put on...
