Did the dealer update my DME?

Took my car to the dealer and they did some service and also did some 3g bluetooth recall.

I used the USB export profile trick and now see that my istep says F020-23-07

When i checked this months ago, it used to say 19 instead of the 23.

Please help me understand if they updated my actual DME, thus making the car harder to bench unlock?

Or is it possible the istep changed but the bootloader wasnt updated?

Thanks in advance

Update for any one wondering.

I used the ob2 connector with bootmod3 agent program which said:

BTLD: 011.019.002

"DME Unlock Requirement: BENCH"

Looks like although the istep was updated, the DME was not changed.

from what I read a bunch on this forum they DME is unchanged with the 3G update thing. Its a pretty useless update to me but the dealer did it even though I told them not to... On the positive side since when they did update it got rid of my full screen car play it was easy to enable via bimmercode

The bootloader hasn't been changed since 03/2019, so it will not overwrite that. You still have the usual bench unlock method. There is no harder to unlock update.

I have a 2020 M2C, build date 03/2019, I-Level F020-23-07-530. I have ISTA.

What do I have to look at to determine if the DME requires a bench unlock to tune? (I'm new to ISTA, so please be specific.)

Thanks.

my car is build date 7/2019 and i needed a bench unlock.

get an ENET TO OBDII connector. so you a need laptop with an ethernet port. (i ran a long ethernet cable from my garage to the desktop in the office )

download bm3 OBD agent software.

run it while connected to your vehicle and it will tell you if your car needs bench unlock or not
