LOL it's 37F outside!

I appreciate that our M2C's have to remind us that it's 37F outside.

Is there a code to let it tell me to drink more water.

LOL. BMWs have been doing the warning for a long time. You can have black ice at that temperature.

Whats wrong with that warning? conditions can become slippery and BMW is proactively warning you , its there in all BMWs

That warning has been around for at least 20 years. Kinda like bridge freezes before roadway.

It's a warning for us to not drive on those MPSS, and to look out for black ice in the morning.

For cars like the M2C that come with summer tires, it's a good reminder that you definitely should not be driving your M2C if that warning goes off. Unless you have winter tires of course.

The E28 5-series with the OBC ("onboard computer" display which was an option on the 528e but standard on the 533i/535i) had this feature. We bought an E28 535i (5MT with LSD) for my wife's daily driver back in 1986, and it had the warning. In that car though I believe it went off at 35F and not 37F. 35 years ago...time flies. The warning may have been first featured in the E23 7-series a few years earlier.

I don't mind the ice warning, but I do mind the damn maintenance reminder every time I start the car...and the fact that I can't start the car in Sport...and the atrocious cold-start...and the pairing issues with my iPhone...and, oh hell, triggered.

I, personally like the 37 degree warning chime; it just reminds me that BMW cares about my safety, 😊 enough to give me a heads-up, on the inclement conditions.

But really, I believe it's more of a liability thing, since most BMWs are equipped with summer tires, which becomes as adhesive as a brick, in freezing weather..

$hit, NC here where low 30's occur frequently in the AM. Never needed snow tires just for low temps. It's more of a don't drive like a jack a$$ warning.

I do, over 42 degrees as the MPSS tires recommend. However, I'm putting winters on this weekend. I couldn't keep the beast in the garage all winter, no way Jose...

I guess I like it. When it goes off it's a reminder to turn the tc back on. Although if it's sunny and not wet usually end up turning it back off, just too frustrating.

Indeed. Leaving such an awesome vehicle in the garage for an entire season would be very sad.

might seem stupid to you if you live in a state with shit weather but if I left my car parked outside(lol never) in CA and I got in, it would serve as good warning to take it easy.

Some of us live in perfect weather and need to be reminded when things change

I'm still waiting for my winter wheels to arrive but I haven't seen that warning yet so I think I'm relatively safe.
