Yeah I'm going to find out, I don't like that. I spoke to my CA today and he didn't mention anything.

I doubt any Oct 2020 production M2s have been sold in the US. They're probably still on boats.

Now if they say July/Aug production cars, then scoale and I will have to start wondering...

Similar to my thread about the F87 knee bags, we can use this to document issues as they arise. Hopefully nobody gets held up!

It literally says Oct.23 production date only. This can't affect too many cars.

Yes, May 2019 to October 2020 but not for the M2. That includes the X3M and X4M. Picture only says October 23 for the M2

There can't be more than a handful of M2s in the world built on that single day. Going to be a good amount of work to replace. Would be nice if they installed a crank hub upgrade while they have everything torn apart ;-)

I think that May 15 date is referring to the other model.

People got some poor reading comprehension and too quick to panic.

Literally says M2C's produced on Oct 23, 2020.

In all likelihood, on that day an error during assembly was identified (for instance, someone forgot to use engine assembly lube on that day and maybe only on some units on that day) . They aren't saying there is a blanket problem with all S55 bearings.

Stop over reacting.

I'm not too sure about panicing, or over reacting. I haven't seen anybody do that here?

However, at a second read it is stating that is only one day of production for the M2C. As someone replied above, the other dates correspond to the other vehicles mentioned.

No way. My car was produced late August and just arrived at port beginning of Nov. It takes a couple of months to get from Germany to the West Coast. I've had a couple of custom BMW orders and the ships can't make it in less than a month from Europe to the West Coast.

I have to disagree. The transit time of my car was Oct 8th and I took delivery Nov 2nd. Delivered to SoCal. It definitely seems like luck of the draw though.

I picked up mines today. My CA said they haven't heard anything about it, so I took off LOL. Maybe when I take it for break in service I'll hear something.

Aren't the engines built ahead of time?
The 10/23 date is the production date of the car jut not the engine right?
So its engines built earlier that were used on 10/23...

My car was shipped to the East Coast. My production date was 10/16/20. It was loaded onto the Orion Highway in Bremerhaven on 10/27/20. It arrived at Port Brunswick, GA on 11/18/20 and at the dealer on 11/20/20. Purchase date of 11/21/20.
