Due to work I'm always traveling with two phones. Work phone on the wireless charger and my personal usually on a magnetic mount.

I used the wireless charger once for a 30min drive to work.
The phone felt like it had been in the oven when I took it out, it was so hot. Never used it again and yes it doesn't charge fast either.

Overheats phone and I don't think it even ends up charging. And the phone gets so hot that CarPlay freezes. It's completely unusable. I'm on an iPhone X |

Great vid! I can finally use the otherwise useless wireless charger!
Even though it charges poorly, at least I don't have to keep sticking my giant Note10+ phone in the cupholder anymore. |

Dude, that thing is a fire hazard. I tried to charge my work phone on it once, it was like i took it out of a pizza over. I would have much rather had a pizza than a car fire. If you need to charge your phone, there's a few chargers in the car, just plug it in and be safe.

Hmm, I had my Iphone 8 on this charger for about 1.5hrs and while it did get warm, it was not pizza oven hot. Are you guys trying to charge thru a metallic or thick plastic/rubber case? I know that will certainly take more power to affect a charge whereby causing more heat and slower charge times. If it is getting hot with a bare phone, with no case installed, then something is off. I would have no problem telling them at the dealership they need to look into it.
Great video and great solution for an apparent common problem. |

I just installed by new bracket and it went smoothly. Now my phone fits. I had it in the charger for more than 30 minutes and did not experience any abnormal warmth. It was the same warmth as the OEM Qi charging pad.

My iPhone 12 seems like doesn't work on 2021 m2c wireless charging port. I put my phone in and it shows a blue light not the green light. Even I took of my case and it's still the same.

I did this mod awhile back and switched it back the next day. The phone gets way too hot and stops charging. BMW needs to get this wireless charging figured out before mass release. This also happens in my G05 X5
