Glad to see it's a more traditional style compared to their previous M2C exhaust being a single exit exhaust. Really hoping they work some magic to negate rasp with the valves open.

I agree! I think they will work their magic and make it sound as close to perfect as possible. This rear, when paired with their new equal length technology, should do the trick

Thinking out loud.. given the mid pipe probably wont be able to fit resonators based on the uneven length requirements to equal it out (or certainly based on their early M3/M4 shots).. I was thinking they could possible add smaller resonators going into the muffler. Or based on that design, one larger resonator on the muffler connecting pipe. Similar to the Corsa exhaust for the E9x M3, which has an absolutely glorious warble.

You can fit mid pipe resonators pre-equal length a long as they are separate one with no gas inerconnection, the problem is space in the tunnel at that point.

I believe the issue is with their midpipe design. The lengthened pipe basically has no straight sections at all which, as far as I know, won't let them put a resonator there.

Ahh of course, yes, the AA anaconda pipe design

IMO we just need one good rear silencer, why the obession with switchable path exhausts? Just one mode that sounds good, end of.

This is a good idea. I guess we will see what happens along the path of development. They are the experts and I’m sure they have some tricks up their sleeves. I believe this rear-section is modeled after their new M8 system, so that may give us an idea of what it may look like....I guess only
Time will tell.

As for the obsession with “switchpath” designs, my feeling is that most people want to be able to “turn on the fun” and be able to turn it off just as easily if they aren’t in the mood. The only company I know that was able to make an exhaust sound good on my B9 S4 was Borla. Their exhaust didn’t have a switchpath and just had a pleasant, but not loud, sound at all times. Has Borla done anything for the F87 platform?

I like being able to switch the exhaust from nice to naughty. The Magnaflow Catback I had in my Genesis was a middle ground without flaps. I liked it because it sounded good (to me) and was maybe 20% louder than stock. Easily livable but not as crazy as I would have liked it to be when I got on it. That full catback only set me back $820! I miss how cheap the stuff on that car was haha.

I like keeping my exhaust flaps closed at least until the car gets on the warmer side. I don't want to disturb neighbors either. There's an S14 one house over that is probably straight piped. Loudest and worst exhaust I've ever heard and it takes like 5 minutes to leave, I hate it. Louder than when another neighbor has a newer 5.0 Mustang visiting.

When I want it to be loud I want it to be LOUD, but only when I'm out of my neighborhood.

Not sure if they have the room for it but maybe they can do what REMUS did with their sport version. Looks like they added small resonators to the outside pipes.

Another rear-section teaser before they develop the midpipe. Check out ActiveAutowerke’s story to hear the first prototype 🤩

For those with the EL exhaust dreams for the F87.... looks like we will have to wait a while longer.

Was their single midpipe able to swap between the M3/4 and the M2C? I figured they would have to make a dedicated one for us anyway.

I think the M2 midpipe was shorter than the M3/M4, so figured they knew this up front. I’m sure they will address this quickly and come up with a solution.

So far sounds great, will have to see how it sounds testing in the wild like we saw the M4. Also I am not sure if it's on stock box or AA box. Not really big fan of burble but I can switch it off or turn down the intensity.

Right now it is on AA equal length mid with AA prototype rear section (tips off).

Definitely looking forward to hearing it in person.
