The Active Autowerke F87 rear exhaust was carefully engineered to eliminate the unflattering sound of the factory M2C and M2CS exhaust, while also allowing for optimum flow and resonance by reusing the actuators from the BMW valves. Every effort was made in addressing the not so appeasing sound of the stock OEM exhaust, but in designing an exhaust worthy for an "M" car. We believe our rear exhaust combined with our mid-pipe (either single or equal length) offers the best combination of sound and performance versus any other system on the market today. This is the exact setup TheHoffmobile had on his car as it was used by AA for the development of both this new axleback exhaust and their new fantastic sounding EL midpipe. I say "had" only because I believe he just recently sold his car and some lucky bastard already bought his awesome exhaust setup for a discounted price I'm sure lol

There's also this photo of the exhaust currently shown on their main website page but if you pull up TheHoffmobile IG page he has more pics & videos on there of his car showing different angles & sound clips I believe

Mike's car was totaled when a piece of metal fell off the car in front of him and hit his oil pan, totaling the engine and totaling the car. I'm the lucky bastard that bought the equal length mid-pipe and the rest of the exhaust (I also got the V2 steering wheel, MP shifter, and CF side emblems from him.)!

It's not on the car yet as I bought it from him last week and the car has not been in for the break-in service. I plan to install it after that. He sent me a clip of the start-up of the car with one small bleep. From that, I can say it does rumble pretty nicely. Low and deep. He mentioned that during development they tried 3 different mufflers until they got the sound just right!

Here are the pics he sent me when I bought it from him. I also have a .MOV clip from him so I could hear how it sounded. I'll upload as soon as I figure out how to do that.

I don't. They are Mike Hoff's. I will mention it to him that I posted them here and that you asked to use them. I highly doubt he would have an issue with it. Do you know how to upload the small movie clip so people can hear how it sounds? When I install it, I will take some photos as well and send them to you if you would like.

Hey, sorry to hear about your M2!

I'm guessing you've heard the AA 3-can (original, NOT Mad Max) with EL Mid on the M3/M4. How would you compare it to this Axle-back + EL Mid on the M2?

Interesting; the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Road debris strike resulting in cracked oil pan / damaged engine. ~$24k in damage. Insurance paid for a new long block.
