just been told by our local tyre fitter 18" 640m wont fit over the callipers and when the wheels flex they will rub the caliper and the disc?

I have the normal blue calliper and they come up on the fitment chart on bmws website where you put your vin in so i am confused to say the least

Edit: BMW confirmed they are fine and will fit them for me today.... 👍😁

I know you already have yo answer, but just to confirm - your tyre fitter is on crack. 640M is what BMW sells as the winter wheel for M2's (non-comp anyway)

https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/6...YLE-640M-COLD- (ignore that it's on an M4, the write up says M2)

Also, this guy has them

Fwiw BMW website says they fit on the comp as well, which is wrong.

Yeah that was my guess for why it says that. Seems like dealerships in the US are still messing this up anyway, though!

Also this is on bmwusa.com heh

I got a set of what I believe to be 640M wheels and I couldn't get them to fit on my M2C with blue callipers. They clear the brakes (just), but the centre bore appears to be wrong. They will not sit flush to the disc!

For reference I have BMW wheels with part numbers 22284905/2284906 that is marked on the wheel itself.

I think the fronts are 8.5j and the rears 9.

Bmw fitted and no issues so far. Ill get a pic later.

Hmm, I have a set of 8.5J fronts and 9J rears but I couldn't get either wheel to sit flush on the front disc flange. I'm not sure what I'm missing, as the part numbers and sizes stamped on the wheels looks to be spot on??

Pics would help - M2 and M2c (and F series M3/M4) use the same wheel bearings so it's kind of impossible for BMW branded wheels that SHOULD fit to not fit - unless they are defective.

yes, they fit with very minimal caliper clearance.

I have some pics here;

Thanks, after some further checking I realised that there was a very small amount of powder coat on the inner bore of the wheels. I had them recoated and didn't think to check this! After a light sand they finally just snuck on.

Clearance with the brakes is tight but there is clearance
