Auto id - different quality carbon - any experience
Hi there, been looking at parts for m2 competition and auto id now offer different quality at different price points.
The latest “TRE” products are sold as being of the highest quality. The CS style spoiler for example is £189 for autoid or £289 for TRE. Does anyone have any experience or has seen both up close to know if the tre product really is that much better. Alternatively has anyone used the “cheap” version and been more than happy with the quality? Comparison pics would be great if possible. |

I have their diffuser.. I would just get OEM. It’s not worth saving a few quid. I have shared pictures on here and Facebook group if you want to check.
Don’t let the youtubers fool you. |

I bought their rear non-tre spoiler and diffuser, and their tre competition mirrors
My car now has M-performance spoiler and diffuser.....and the stock mirrors.

I have their TRE spoiler and non TRE front lip. Both are fine and look great. Not sure what issues everyone else has had with other products, but my experience has been good

What was wrong with the mirrors? I've had the TRE ones as well for a while now with no problems

I have the mirrors and I'm happy with them. They aren't the level of OEM, of course, but neither is the price.
I'll be going with OEM CS spoiler and diffuser pieces because I know there won't be any issues. |

Guys, doesn't sound like you've had the best experience with us so far.
I'd really appreciate your feedback on the parts so we can improve. The BMW M2 Rear diffuser is a great example of how we've used feedback to improve our products. The next batch that are due in with us next Friday are significantly tighter fitting and are a straight swap for OEM. |

Speaking openly, the aesthetic difference between the two variants will be difficult to perceive to anyone other than car enthusiasts like us lot on here. The most notable visual differences are: cleaner and clearer glossy coating; slightly darker and deep carbon fibre shading. In terms of feel and overall quality though, the TRE spoiler does stand above its counterpart. TRE products are generally stronger and feel it in the hand. They're also lighter. We're also able to offer a 2 year warranty on TRE products due to our confidence in their increased longevity. The pre-preg carbon fibre construction means that the product is less prone to failure after extended exposure to the sun (this something ALL carbon fibre suffers from, ask an E92 owner and how their roof is holding up!). Hopefully this is helpful in making a choice. Any questions, just shout. |

Just wanted to say I've had for a year and half now the carbon mirror caps and CS style spoiler (non TRE as it wasn't available at the time), they're the exact same shape since I got them, I do see a few little spots that I'm certain no one would notice except someone who would come reallyyyyy close to look (like a closeup photo), that being said when you look at the price and fitment it's a great value in my opinion and the quality is good and I have no complaints and don't see any reason to change them so far

Ah gotcha okay. I have the painted (LBB) TRE mirror units and the fit and color are 100% (even after ~12 months)

I have the CS style spoiler on my car and I think this was before they had different versions as I bought it well over a year ago now. The quality and fit were top notch. I also have the M Performance rear diffuser and that actually had some clear coat imperfections and the bit left a bit to be desired. Point is, the M Performance line isn’t necessarily the best quality.
For the price I have zero complaints and would wholeheartedly recommend autoID. |
