I understand some of the pros for going square over staggered but just trying to get some user feedback.

This is my daily/canyon car and will be doing mostly auto-x with a track day or 2. I will be installing coilovers and camber plates soon.
Thinking of going 18x9.5 squared with 265/35 or 18x9.5/10.5 with 265/35 295/35 or 30. I want to go to 18s for better tire options in the extreme category.

Anybody actually having issues with traction control? I've heard yes and no.

Anything else I should be concerned with or would need to address? Or just better to stick with oem like staggered setup?

I had TCS issues with square setup on a 2017 until I got the software upgraded. The TCS would be kicking in on the highway while going straight (60mph, 6th gear, reasonably grippy road) for no reason.

After the update it's fine. That's my winter setup.

But I still prefer the staggered setup with 0 front, and minimal rear toe. That way the car is very neutral.

Was this a BMW software update?
Mines a 2018 so wonder if it would have the updated software.

You running 18" or 19" staggered setup?

Yes, the ISTEP firmware. Your car is most likely ok, it was just the 2016-2017 in North America that had the DSC nerfed because the Germans don't think we can drive

Here is an example of people talking about it - https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1407645

OEM 19 staggered in summer, 18x9 with 245 tires square setup for winter.

2018. I don't really have a daily but this car sees all types of roads and conditions rather than just the same road each day, and I still haven't seen any TC issues.
