I'm seeing more and more M2s and M2Cs running the M Performance CF tips--18 30 2 358 110--and it makes me question the folks who originally said that the M2 stock exhaust and M2 Performance exhaust pipes where different ODs.

Has anyone measured the tailpipes on the M2 stock, M2C stock and M2 M Performance exhaust and confirmed they are the same OD and therefore all can use the M Performance CF and Ti finishers?

M2 stock exhaust with CF tips...

Also trying to determine if these fit. When I first found them for the F22 it required those cars to cut off the pipes and install larger pipes (M235I+IX--please note: will only fit an original BMW -/// Performance rear silencer), which I'm thinking may be the size of the stock M exhaust?

Considering they sell the tips alone means they should fit the stock exhaust.

The part# for the M2 tips is 18302358110
https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/5...EXHAUST-SYSTEM

Part# for the M2C tips is 18302456072
https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/6...PIPE-FINISHERS

I think they might be different tips.

M2 & M2C M Performance tailpipe finisher information

  1. M Logo tailpipe finishers
  2. M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finishers, M2 vs M2C
  3. M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finishers-inboard end, M2 vs M2C
  4. M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finishers-outboard end, M2 vs M2C
  5. M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finisher OD, M2
  6. M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finisher OD, M2C
  7. M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finishers, M2 & M2C, same OD

The first picture shows the M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finishers for the M2 and M2C and a chrome ///M logo tailpipe finisher. They all have the same inner pipe OD. The chrome version is < $100 each. I have seen another chrome version w/o the outboard flare but do not have pictures or information on fitment.

The M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finishers for the M2 and M2C should work on either exhaust.

The M Performance titanium tailpipe finishers for the M2 should work on the M2C performance exhaust.

So the M performance carbon variants both have the same inlet size? I thought the one for the MPE was 67MM vs 70MM for the stock. Did you verify that chrome one fits on the stock M2/C 70MM pipes? If so, can you share that part number?

The two carbon version shown are for the MPE. The first is the original and second is the "updated" version. My guess was the clamp was introduced to solve the rattle issue, though reading various threads I'm not convinced that the tips were the cause of the rattle?

ECS tuning lists the MPC tips carbon and titanium as fitting the stock M2, M3 & M4 but do not say it requires the MPC exhaust. Probably a typo on their part.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...302358110~oeb/

I found these tips (18302348836) but not sure if they fit the stock exhaust...
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...h/18302348836/

These tips(18302355889, 18302354364) Fit F22, F3x, F10, F12, 2 series and requires adapters (18302287042 or 18302287043 depending on model). So again not sure if these will fit the stock exhaust w/o the adapter.
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...h/18302354364/

I need to get off my butt, pull a tip and measure the stock exhaust pipe.

BTW, linking to ECS b/c they have the best pictures and descriptions.

The first one does say it needs the MPE (MPE apparently has 67MM pipes vs 70MM for stock - but your pics above suggested they were the same)...the third I am unsure about. The second is interesting bc it's an akrapovic part (cool) and a cross search of some other suppliers (non-OE) have the same tip sizes for F80/F10 M cars. A search seems to suggest the pipes on the bigger cars are 73MM vs. 70MM for the F8x cars. I guess that's small enough to where a clamp would suffice...just not sure on that.

omasou Do you still happen to have the M2C tip sitting around...PN 18302456072? If so, could you measure the diameter of the clamp part...just a tad wider than the part you already measured. This part seems to cross reference with the M5C and may actually be designed for a 70MM pipe vs. the 67MM of the OGM2/M3/M4 MPE. if that's the case, it would fit on the stock pipes for the M2C/M3/M4.

Thx!

BMW makes a clamp version specific to the stock exhaust...it's a different PN than the ones you showed above. The carbon part is shorter and it has the two semicircular notches to match up to the factory pins.

Fugly M3, did you ever find out if the PN 18302456072 fitted the stock 70mm exhaust tailpipe? Thanks

Just curious on the 072 and if it has been tested, as it has a longer carbon stem and would look better over the shorter one on the 411

Getbmwparts says 072 is for the MPE. From my notes, the MPE has a 67mm outlet diameter, so no go.

I bought whichever ones were for the stock exhaust and was very happy with them. I now have G80X and have the applicable iteration on it as well!
