Furthermore it is the first time that I think that the M2 doesn't sound like an N55. Maybe someone else can compare this short clip with the other ones.

Sounds a lot like the N55 with MPE in the last video, except with more backfire on downshifts. Interesting camo-ed attachments on the front of the roof and the top of the trunk.

This really has to be the final major rounds of testing. Good thing because I was starting to calculate F80 payments and how much it would cost to supercharge the e36 |

I have the patience of a 2 year old
That really would be the ideal time to buy IMO. But that is also a whopping 2 years from now.

I saw an F80 in the flesh yesterday (I don't see many here in North Dallas) and was reminded of how much I love that car. I still think one will find its way into my future at some point...or the M2...but tt looked good and even sounded good, albeit at close range and lower revs.

It certainly wasn't all based on the waiting and lack of info on the M2, but that played a role for sure.

As far as the M2, the wait is definitely wearing on me as well. But then I read about the praise that the 2er platform has gotten, it's really hard to argue just how good the M2 is going to be. Hell, the 2er replaced the 3er in Car & Driver's Top 10 list after how many decades? There's no doubt that the M2 is starting from one hell of a good platform. After waiting this many YEARS for the M2, I'd be crazy to bail now Plus all I have to do is look my desktop background: Quote:
Speaking of which, I gotta take my E92 out for a spin this weekend. I haven't driven her in almost 2 weeks

I don't know about you guys but this new tune must be pretty extensive, and it will probably be controversial. If this is the n55 then they have been hitting the sound engineering hard, In tune. I hear a lot of fuel overrun tweaks, similar to the b58's tuning. Post shift tuning may be the same but they definitely changed quite a bit.
I for one am on board, I've always wanted to mess with overun on my n54 but don't have the time or resources. It's more refined than the jag/CLA style, which is good. I would be surprised if this wasn't the n55, since all factors point to n55. This sound on the other hand doesn't. Either the "character" tuning is extensive or it's not the n55. |
