F87 M2 Competition Performance Street Pads

For those who have been waiting for performance street pads for your M2C, Porterfield has R4-S High-Performance Street Brake Pads available.

For high performance and heavy-duty street conditions the Porterfield R4-S compound remains a top performer in the realm of street/performance brake pads. With the R4-S compound giving a friction level up to .41. This is an amazingly fast stopping brake pad. Simply put, they will give you an impressive increase in stopping ability with very minimum amount of pedal effort. Perfect for prolonged everyday street driving while also being capable of enduring the most severe use without fade. It is also rotor friendly of course.
The Porterfield team have gone to great measures to ensure that the R4-S compound has the absolute low- est noise and dust levels possible, far below O.E.M. equipment or any other high-performance brake material. The R4-S compound which has an overall win in the Baja 1000 is available for most models of cars, trucks, and SUV’s. Superb stopping power under heavy use. Great for occasional autocrossing, solo events, off-road events, and rallies. Perhaps one of the overall best performing, clean and quiet everyday high performance driving brake pad ever made.
The R4-S compound is available for virtually any vehicle sold in the U.S. Also for rare vintage cars and special applications for street touring.

I’ve used Porterfield R4 (not the R4-S) for the track. Excellent pads!! Great bite and great for high temps especially when combined with Castrol SRF brake fluid.

What model for the M2C? I can't find the R4 for the 2NH brakes on their website.

Porterfield doesn't have the M2C pads listed yet. We have done the research and Porterfield can now make the M2C pads in both the R4 and R4-S compounds.

Applications for the M2C will be limited for a while until everyone catches on. Pagid RS29 is a good alternative if you are looking for track only pads. Otherwise, Ferodo DS2500 is available for a dual purpose car.

So the ones in the 1st post would also fit the OG M2 as well then?

Same callipers - unless you specced the bigger brakes - so should be the same pads. Always good to see posts from knowledgeable suppliers...

The M2 shares the same pad with F8x M3/4 and F2x/F3x with the blue sport calipers. The M2C is the different animal here.

It may be market dependent, but the M2C can be specced with either 380x30 / blue caliper, or 400x36 M Sport / silver caliper front brakes.

From reading the original post I was curious as to how the 400x36 items held up on track.

That is good to know that some M2C can come with the standard brakes. As long as it's the 6 piston front these are the right pads for you.
