A few important things to note are that the M2 has a different and higher flowing airbox and turbo than the 2013 335i (dyno plot provided by BMS). Also, that 335i is pretty modded including ethanol. It would be a lot better if they could provide a dyno of the intake on an M2.

Lastly, those power curves on the earlier modded N55s and even N54s are so terrible. Peak power at 4,800rpms? LOL. Is that a diesel?

Just ordered! We'll see if it pops a CEL. This is my daily so I should be able to put a decent amount of miles on it in not too long a time.

Installed

Installed and tested. Some things to note:

Pros:
- Sound is great, and not overly loud with the excessive surge/induction roar like Eventuri intakes have. Imo it is the right amount of turbo spool and drama.
- Call me crazy but the car undoubtedly pulls harder. I have installed a CAI on atleast half a dozen vehicles in my lifetime and never felt a performance gain before. With this intake the car feels like it runs stronger under WOT. (I am currently stock although I have a pile of FBO parts and a PS2 turbo going in any day now)

Cons:
- Aluminum is THIN, as so, I decided to install thermal gold tape.
- Fitment leaves something to be desired, although it looks pretty good installed. The port for the MAF is very tight and it is not seating as flush as id like. I will make some adjustments to try to correct this. My biggest gripe is the flared end of the intake that mates to the OEM plastic plumbing is smaller than OE. Because of this, it requires you to tighten the worm clamp down excessively. It holds securely but I'm not a fan of the fitment here.
- Last and most important, throws a CEL. Have not coded it yet but the car runs fine with the light on. I will update this if it goes away, although I doubt it will based on past experience.
- Idle is rough upon start up, and throttle response is abrupt in sport mode at 2k rpm when driving civil in a higher gear.

I am happy to confirm this CAI will fit over the metal lines as an above user had concerns over, and I did not have to modify anything to get this to fit. It was very easy to install and literally took 5 minutes.

I will sell this for a steal if another member wants to try it, as I don't plan on running JB4 to code this CEL out. Shoot me a dm if interested (San Diego, CA)

Sounds like another company that lets the consumer do R&D. Thanks for the review.

Hey, I think your CEL might be due to the MAF sensor not being seated 100%. When I installed BMS's intake on my previous F80, it threw a CEL at first but it was because I didn't have the MAF sensor seated 100% and un-metered air was getting in past the o-ring. It made idle rough, too. I also remember the MAF port being very tight on that intake, too.

Once I adjusted it and seated it fully, the CEL went away for good. I'd suggest adding a drop of DW40 to the o-ring and re-install the sensor until it is completely seated flush.

However, I know some intakes can trigger a CEL on the M2 just by the shape of the intake being different than stock so the above might not be the fix but it's worth a try.

Really not surprising that this filter on a stick is throwing a code like all the other filters on a stick. The N55 and it's MAF sensor just aren't happy with open element air filters.

Thanks for the suggestion. I reinstalled the OEM intake and the CEL still persists although all the other symptoms are now gone and the car runs smoothly now. I do not see any signs of oil on the MAF either. I will clear the code using MHD today to see if it comes back. Might try to reinstall it again.

Does anyone know if MHD "DME Adaptation Reset" function will allow me to run this without any of the above mentioned problems? Or is it only a troubleshooting feature not to be used as a remedy to issues?

My car is DCT not manual

I can't speak for the MHD stuff but the CEL will probably clear on its own in ~50-100 miles from my experience. I think the car needs to go through a drive cycle before the MAF will say everything's good.

Ended up being able to clear it with MHD. Bunch of misfires, rich air, and exhaust gas errors.

FWIW, I've been running the CTS Turbo intake for 7000km and have not seen a single CEL.
