6MT - Possible to code out clutch delay?

Hi,

With the M2 6MT there is a delay in getting onto the gas that is being controlled by the ECU after changing gear. Instead of a jolt in the back as the engine lays down it's torque, there is a slight delay and then a softness to how the ECU is applying the throttle (regardless of how much you are pressing the throttle).

This was there from the start, but not that bad in the OG M2 software, but following an update to more recent software (Istep: F020-18-07-547, so the ECU is effectively an LCI), there is a slowness to how the car puts the throttle down after changing gear. I assume that this is there to reduce transmission/clutch/tyre wear, but it would be nice to get rid of it.

Please can anyone let me know if this can be coded out?

I am almost certain that this situation could be improved by modding the clutch switch wiring (I have done this in a different car), but my M2 is still in warranty so I don't want to do that just yet.

Cheers.

You need to shift faster to overcome the boost drop, its quite odd but the car dumps boost between gears quickly if not shifted quick enough - it's not actually a throttle cut.

Also Sport+ keeps the wastegate closed to help mitigate it.

You should consider installing a GFB DV+ to solve this issue

Your right that the effect is less in Sport+ but I can still feel it and I don't think I can change any quicker!

I'm going to investigate the DME config options - if nothing's there that looks like it will help then perhaps a stronger dump valve is needed.

Cheers.

There's a thread in the N55 section on the GFB DV+ diverter valve.

I have finally got round to checking the DME options and translating them - there isn't anything obvious that could affect this, so I will be getting the DV+ in a few months (once the warranty has expired).

I'll post back my impressions on that once done.

Cheers.

Keep trying. Sport+, rev to red line, shift super fast and no boost drop.

Kind of annoying that we have to shift perfectly to keep boost but it can be done. I guess some love that challenge, I wish it was a touch easier.

Bootmod3 has ability to configure rev matching
