Ha ha yes maybe I should have. However I really don't like the silver colour and it wouldn't look nice sitting in front of my house. So yours cost the equivalent of € 185 ? Is it fully waterproof and condensation proof ?

Fully waterproof. For condensation, there are vents on top to evacuate the humidity, like a rain coat.

For the colour, I took what it was available. I kind of like the fact it's different, futuristic.

Curious: I ordered the cover, but I can’t find the holes for the security cable. Where are they?

I only see two holes at the top of the doors, and only the passenger side door has the webbing with the plastic ball to slip in the door to “attach” the cover to the car.

I will have to check when I get my car out of storage. I think they are located on each side next to the front wheel arch. I do not use them.

P.S.: I didn't know the "ball" was to attach the car cover to the car. Maybe the "replaces" the holes?

Yea, the ball attached to the webbing is supposed to slip into the passenger door. I checked the front wheel area of the cover for any cable lock holes but found none. Let me know if you find anything. Thanks.

So you like the Noah better...

Can you post several pictures of yours.

Have you used it outside? Any issues with heavy winds?

Nice and lightweight, relatively waterproof (although on a damp day you're going to have moisture underneath anyway) and it fits really well. I had one for my old E30 M3 too, and it was durable. Lastly, it's thin enough that it doesn't take up much space in the trunk when folded, and it fits in a standard washing machine. I like it much better than a heavier NOAH type cover.

No, I like the NOAH less - it's too thick and heavy to be convenient. Since it's more cloth-like material it also stays wet forever after rain. The Weathershield beads light rain nicely and dries really quickly.

That said, since you asked about wind, I do use it outside and that's the one issue I have with the Weathershield cover. It's so lightweight that it doesn't take a super strong breeze to move it around. The fit is good overall, but it's not all that snug so the wind gets under it and lifts it off the car, in my case from the front first. I wish there was a way to secure it front-to-rear, vs. side to side - that would likely fix my issue. Or even if there was a strip of grippy material on the inside edge that was more likely to hold onto the bottom of the bumper, I think that would help. As is it, I just take it off if I know there are going to be high (25-30+ mph) winds. Otherwise I know I'll look outside to see the cover up over the hood. The mirrors usually catch it so it doesn't come all the way off, but once or twice I've found it on the ground. At least it washes easily!

So I'd say my recommendation might depend on where you live. In my area it's good 90+% of the time, but if you live in, say, the plains, where you get constant wind, it probably wouldn't be the best choice.

Are there any covers out there that don’t have BMW logos or branding on the outside? I’m looking for an outdoor cover with the primary concern being high winds with sand/dust/tumbleweeds, not necessarily rain. Any suggestions?

I recommend Specialized Covers (above photo)... great quality... mine is for dust but you can get water proof ones for outdoors too

OK so I live in NJ where we get everything. Heavy rains, winds, snow.. and this car will only be driven in the summertime as I have a winter car so I need something for long term storage/coverage. Unless I can find an indoor spot for parking this car will most likely have to be stored outdoors long term. Not necessarily on a public street but probably a driveway.

So what would you guys and girls recommend since you've been able to use your covers for a good bit of time now.

Looking at the covercraft weathershield or Ultratect. My main concern is cars who live to talk on my car in addition to some rain and tree stuff. My main concern is the car and animals, any thoughts?

OEM car cover

Hey guys,

For those that are looking at the OEM cover part # 82-15-2-350-053, try https://www.schmiedmann.com. I just ordered one and with the crazy shipping cost to the US it came out to $241. Now it's time to wait for delivery.

I think I'm going to have to break down and pay the shipping for Specialized Covers to send me one... I can't find anything in the US that's looks as good to me.
