I almost never override the rev-match on downshift, but I very often override it on upshift.

Glad my thoughts helped! I still catch myself not letting the clutch out fast enough at times since it goes against everything I've always done. It's usually most noticeable on the 3-2 downshift where I'm trying to let the clutch out too slowly by habit. What's amazing is the 2-1 downshift where you trust the rev-matching. I've tried to simulate that airport autox course turn-around cone approach and practiced the 2-1 at just the right speed, and it's super smooth, perfectly rev-matched, amazing.

It works very well, I don't even really notice it anymore, but then I haven't - and probably won't - track my car.

The REV HANG bothers me way more than the REV MATCH. If you've never driven MTs in the past I don't think this would bug you.

Driving in Sport+ mode helps rev hang quite a bit.

Any cure for that aside from Sport+ and trying to be super fast?

Apparently a flash tune can fix it also, but there goes the warranty.

I've heard that. Since picking up the car it's been exclusively driven on wet roads in the 40F degree range.

Sport+ just seems too snarky for these cold wet winter days.

I'm still learning it, as I come from rev matching since my 91 e30 318iS. I find it revs the car too much unexpectedly. When driving away from the dealer at 10miles, i downshifted to 3rd at 30 mph and revs shot up to 5k. Freaked me out about engine damage

No way downshifting into 3rd will jump the revs up to 5k at 30mph. Are you sure you didn't downshift into 1st instead of 3rd?

Drive faster, shift faster. Definitely enhances the overall ownership experience immensely.

Is it possible to shift into 1st at 30mph? I feel like I'm blocked out of 1st until I get to a lower, 'crawling' speed.

Relatively easy way around it is to blip the throttle before moving away from neutral. But I prefer auto rev-matching. Although I would prefer the ability to turn it off was simpler.
