Eibachs -> Still practical afterwards?
I'm on the verge of getting my Eibach springs installed (they're in the boot!) together with spacers (12F/10R) but I keep getting worried about whether they'll make the car substantially less 'usable'. I'm simply thinking of doing it for the aesthetics, but not if it'll make the car a pain live with...
The M2 is my daily driver and also the family holiday shuttle, so I guess what I'm wondering is this: When the car is loaded, do the springs compress to the point where you end up whacking every speed bump along the way or are they firm enough to not compress down excessively so the car is still usable for a good range of tasks? If they're going to make the car a nuisance for 'family' tasks, then I'll just save up for coilovers instead and adjust the height when needed... Sorry if it's a silly question, I just don't have experience with lowering springs and don't want to make a terrible move. Thanks everyone! Matt |

Same setup here. You won't notice a huge difference from stock. very livable. No bottoming out but I'm careful to avoid nasty pot holes etc.
I frequently have my two kids in back (6 and 10) and wife up front no problem. Ill get the odd comment from the kids when driving over crappy roads but Im 100% sure they would also make same comments on tstock set up. In either case, on long drives, I don't think the back row is a very comfortable place to be. |

Just wanted to confirm for anyone else that reads this is the future: Had these on a week now, done the usual family things over the weekend (car basically full of people and luggage) and nobody even mentioned that it felt different! I'm considering that a success...

Been trying to decide between getting some eibach springs or going the coilover route. I daily my car on fairly rough roads and I track maybe twice a year. I am a bit worried about shock wear with stock shocks but a 1 inch drop I feel shouldn't be too bad. I heard some people say the rear end is a bit more bouncy with lowering springs. Anyone experience this? BMW suspension is great out the box for me and I just don't want anything to potentially get worse handling wise.

I would t worry to much about shock wear with this drop. Very minor. Also I've installed eibachs on my past 3 cars, kept all for 4-6 years and never had any shock absorber issues. |

I shall second this, I have the lowering springs, the handling is nearly the same. To me it honestly feels a little more planted. I guess it is slightly more bouncy but very slight.
Took a pic of the rear springs, stock on left, eibach on right. |
