I’m glad to see Doug review this car. I actually reached out to him in August since I had an early car ( sounds like it was the first production model) that was broken in. Sounds like logistically it would have made sense since I am in Denver.
His response, “Thanks so much for the note! I sincerely appreciate your offer. I’m not sure when I’ll be in Denver again, but I keep a running spreadsheet of people with cool cars, and I’ve added you to it. The next time I’m our your way with some free time, I’ll probably shoot you an e-mail and try to set up something. I’d love to check out the M2 Competition! I hope all is well — thanks again for the note, and I hope we’ll be in touch soon!” Seems like a pretty nice dude. |

Then there's his previous videos. I do like his video but come on - they can't all be the best
Here's why the BMW M2 is the best M car and the BMW 1 Series M is the Best BMW of all time |

I know he's not for everyone but I like his reviews. Once the car magazines get a hold of cars and do all the road tests you pretty well know exactly what the car is capable of performance-wise and not much changes from review to review. Doug's reviews dig into the quirks and little details that may pop up living with the car on a daily basis that you will never get from a C&D or Chris Harris review.
In one of his latest MB reviews he noted something I never noticed but now cannot un-see every time I look at the front end of a new MB. MB has the star logo on the grill but it's also repeated just above on the bumper cover. He then used a graphic of what a GM would look like if GM put the bow tie on the grill and again above it and it really is kind of ridiculous. Once you focus on that it really does look redundant and unnecessary but I would have never noticed until he brought it up. Go to the 4:05 mark and watch; Last edited by heavyD^2; 01-18-2019 at 12:51 PM.. |

I really like his reviews. He digs into areas that no one else covers, which makes it unique. I actually really dislike reviews that goes over numbers and statistics. I can always read those on my own.

I love how he mentions it’s a car you want to just toss around...as he drives around residential streets lol |

Am I the only one who thinks the owner of that car did not peel the little plastic covering off the M2 logo on the seats?
If it wasn't for someone mentioning it in one of the threads, I would've never noticed that either LOL. My dealer missed it, I had to peel it off myself. |

I actually reached out to him in September along with TST but I got no response from Doug. Not even a thank you note and I am in the LA area. Seems like a really cool guy though and I like his videos. Totally understand if you can't reply to everyone since he probably gets a lot of inquiries. Nonetheless, I was super lucky to be on TST! |

The car looks really CLEAN and beautiful. You get a better perspective of the 788's... they only look good when they're really clean, which is a major pita.

Doug is a cool guy, he rented my Fiesta ST on Turo this past summer and did a review.
I had a 30 min chat with him afterwards on cars, he is just as quirky in person as he is in his videos. I actually shot him a message to review my HS M2C but he had already lined up another HS M2C to shoot.

I'm surprise he didn't rag on the exhaust, not the sound but its appearance..
I know his style and that conspicuous hunk of metal, hanging for the ass of his 'favorite' new M car would of definitely been one of his construction criticism's wet dream.. Can't figure out if it slipped through the cracks or he purposely didn't mention it.. |

I would of loved to have been a fly on the wall, at that boardroom meeting at M headquarters in Munich, the day they approved that muffler.. Like why Gunther why.. The high-temp spray paint looks like a viable solution. It mask the exhaust appearance a good 80% IMO. When life gives you utters.. |

I like the silencer, kind of looks like the car's got Balls if you know what I mean.
Lik the car is too small for it's own large appendages! |
