"Hello and thank you for your interest in Akrapovic !

As the Swedish agent for Akrapovic automotive systems, we received your request for this system. When the development time of each system is very long , there is a limited capacity how many new versions to be developed every year. From a BMW perspective we work at present with x5m system and then takes priority on the new M2 , as in the current situation there are no plans to release something to the M235 in 2015. If this were to change , we will feed back to you with information"
I wonder if GTHAUS has been working on one for the M2 as well?

BMW interiors are really becoming outpaced by this generations competitors. Great example you posted of the RS3, A45, and Golf R. Have you seen the interior on the 2016 TTS as well? Looks pretty damn good and much better than the M2. I feel that the only interiors still leading in class with BMW are the 5 and 6 Series. Even the new G12 7-Series still isn't a match for this generations S-Class in my opinion. The 2016 C-Class is so elegant, I'm not sure that BMW will be able to match it for the next generation of 3-Series. I guess time will tell. As for the M2, I'd still rather have a 2016 Audi TTS. Although the 2016 TTS has 60 less horsepower, it's still 300-400lbs lighter than the M2. No 6MT in the TTS though.

The white hides the details of the wheel flares.

I think all of the performance parts being pricey optionals is BS.
Is it a M-car or is it not? These parts should have been standard.
Also disappointed with the performance figures.
They should have given it a lot more.
This doesn't feel like much of an upgrade to my e92 335i (ESS), which has more HP and more torque.
If I do decide to put my name down, it's going to the tuner the day after delivery.
They should have fitted it with the M4 GTS engine, that would be proper.

Agreed. Wouldnt bother with both (tts or M2) save yourself a few $$$ and bag a classic. Z4M coup: Na I6 6mt and lighter. Sounds better too imo. Thats what I did. Coudnt be happier

A front lip and these parts and the m2 will be perfect, hard decision on whether to get m2, m4 also whether to wait for LCIs of either
If you actually track your car there should be no tough decision....m2 all the way. M2 is way better looking and proportioned better than the m4, which IMO looks like a mini 6 series. Not my cup of tee

I suspect there will be a good number of vinyl wrapped M2s.

You think its a good idea for them to fit it with the engine from there $120,000.00+ M3 GTS lol I think its a good idea if the lottery just gave me a billion dollars but it doesn't make any sense to anyone else. This is a massive upgrade from your e92 335 and it has nothing to do with the motor. What about the DCT vs automatic, open diff vs electronic M LSD, Aluminum front/rear axles from the m3/4 vs generic steel axles, stiffened chassis, wider track, aggressive exterior design with wide fenders, etc. Its a hell of an upgrade vs a tuned e92 335

Yes but it's not an upgrade for where I spend the most time in the car, driving on the Autobahn.
I will never take the car to a track, but I will race you on the Autobahn!
They can easily give it more power if they want to, so I guess the reason they don't is because for some reason, the higher number needs to be faster.

It boggles my mind how people on here expected a car with similar features/performance of the M4 for more than 10k cheaper. Even giving it all those features and pricing it close to the M4 is a horrible business decision.

My point is I don't get why they make it slower than it could be on purpose.
It serves no other purpose than a 2 has to be slower than a 3, a 3 has to be slower than a 5.
Why wouldn't they pull 420hp and 550nm from the engine?
You'll easily get that from a stage 1 tune.
This M2 (at least on paper) feels like a lightly tuned M235i with a few parts being changed for M-parts and beefed up exterior.
The M2 should have at least 100hp more than the M235i, like the difference from the e92 335i to e92 M3, or current 340i to current M3.

Nah, man, it shouldn't. That wouldn't fill the required roll of the M2. The M2 fills a perfect spot in the line up. If you want to tune it go right ahead. But the M2 will in no way be an M235i with a tune. The changes made to it are very significant. The M2 was engineered to be an engaging driver and I'm sure it will be. That's what you're getting with the m2. Fun. Engagement. Not M3/4 numbers.

I Like the MG but I have 3 gray cars and I need some color. LBB for me.

I know the point that this car is made in Leipzig and that the plant is set up for efficiency has been beaten to death but really, having an authentic M seat option should not be impossible to facilitate.
I'm planning on putting in my Recaro's. If I need to ship the car to IND or somebody who's great at coding, well then those guys are gonna get the money that BMW could have charged to put in proper, non slippery performance seats. If BMW is all about the money, they leave a lot on the table. AGAIN, study the Porsche playbook.

I'm gonna get a 2016 but I know the 2017 will be better. LCI, probably an added color. Better dealer pricing. If it comes in at 51k, I'm good as delivered. And that delivery will be in the RS touring ED group in MAY 2016.

Agreed, but my guess is there are huge costs involved in the fitment of differing seats for what will be a low volume car, especially in markets such as the US.
Sometimes it's easier (and cheaper) to take the initiative and do the job yourself.
My 1 M Coupe seat install :

They transformed a great car in to something truly outstanding.

I dunno, if Nissan can afford to put unique seats in the 370Z Nismo, you would think that BMW can afford to put unique seats in the M2.

You have me at a disadvantage. I know nothing of the Ricer scene sir
BMW fitted bespoke seats in to the E46 M3 CSL, but at a cost due to the limited number produced ......
The current M3/4 gets them because they'll be built in larger volumes. if the press is to be believed, the 2M won't be.

Audi and Mercedes did it by making them optional in the standard series cars... The S3 and CLA45 have optional Recaro (or Recaro-like) seats. I'm thinking if we were given this as an option, no one would have complained because it was an option on the M235i...
