Is this a decent deal on tires?

This (2019) is my first time with a set of track (HPDE) rims and tires. I have the rims (thanks APEX!) and just ordered tires. The price seemed right...thoughts on the following?

Continental Tire's IMSA partnership ended with the 2018 season. Do you wonder where all the unused pro race tires go when the racing season ends? WE WENT ALL INDIANA JONES AND FOUND THE HOLY GRAIL : containers full of Contis that need to be sold to make room for new inventory.

Get them while supplies last at $165-210/tire in widths ranging from 225-325!

Good deal, altho looks cheaper here: https://shop.hoosiertire.com/index.p...it-racing.html

The only tire worth messing with is the 265/645R18 G5500, unless you want to try to fit a 305 in the back.

Altho, if you don’t have a lot of track time or R comp tire experience, I wouldn’t recommend slicks.

That's the tire I ordered. The price actually works out to be $5.95 more expensive on the site you shared - it's all a difference in where/how they factor in taxes and shipping.

There's always a first time with slicks and these will be mine. I have tracked my M2 about once per month throughout 2018 - burning through the stock Conti's (in about 6,000 miles) and starting on Pilot 4S's. I'll be trying to keep the rubber on the road! Any advice is welcomed as I transition!

Cool man.

I’ve heard these are slower than R7’s and Pirelli slicks, but last longer.

My advice would be to burn up a set of RE-71R’s first, as those are a decent step up in learning from 4S’s, and the slicks will be a step up from the 71R’s.

Plus, slicks work better for HPDE in the summer when the track is warm/hot.

Used Pirelli slicks: https://usedracingtires.com/collections/pirelli

Who’s going to slap some of these on?

I ran pirellis for a few events this year. Fantastic slick. Tons of grip and really good wear

Nice. What size wheels/offsets and tires are you running?

How do you fit 305s on an M2? What size are you running on the front?

Also if you don't mind couple more questions , what are specs of wheels and what suspension are you on?

18x9.5 et 28 front and 18x10 et 40 rears. The 305/645/18 had way too much height for my car on MCS. Rubbed quite a bit of the fender liner away. Otherwise loved the pirellis

@cntzl In the rear I could run 305s no issue with a smaller sidewall. 305/35/18 R888R fit fine. The front is the more tricky part on this car as you have to play with camber when going 265-285. Rear has a ton of room for tire with the right wheel/offset. For the fronts I was running Pirelli 265/645/18. I normally run a 275/35/18 in the front

Pirelli is my favorite. I'm running on stock suspension with camber plates.

Apex FL-5 Front: 18x9.5 ET28 - 275/645-18
Apex FL-5 Rear: 18x10.5 ET40 - 305/660-18
