Anyway, you'd instantly feel how good stock wheel feels when doing back to back driving.
Had one. Love Alcantara, but hated the ridge at the 12 o'clock position. Had one and sold it after about 6 months. Debating getting the v1 all alcantara wheel perhaps when I get the m2c.

The physical install was 100% plug and play but if you're hoping not to need to code the car afterwords, then yes, you're wishing a little. Definitely needs to be coded. Every light imaginable went off. Hell, it even thought the car had a malfunctioning convertible top

It comes out on its own with two torx screws and then two cables need to be unplugged from the back of the cluster before you can jimmy it through the gap In your steering wheel. If I had to do it a second time I'd be able to do it in 15 min. It's very easy. You just go slow when you don't know what you're doing so it took me about an hour to do initially.

Nope, have been too busy/lazy to mess with them and they are just on the wheel as is for now.

I SOOOO want to do the rollbar. Damn kids...curious though, why leave the back seat in? Doesn't the bar render it useless?

It is useless for passengers yes, especially since the seat belts need to be removed for this particular cage! That said, there are a few reasons I picked a cage that KEEPS the back seats in the car:

i) the seats provide some sound insulation as the car is f'n loud (MPE, Sport Cat DP and tune)
ii) there is additional cost to get a seat-delete package - usually around $400
iii) I haven't seen a seat delete that looks good to my eye, stock seats just look better
iv) Storing the seats is a pain (I am already storing the front seats!)

Have only had the cage in for a little over a week and have received several compliments/questions...so there's that.

These were a one off. Taken from another customer's M4, then IND did the alcantara work and sold them to a guy about 350kms away from me. He had them for a very short time (only had 1,900km on his car) and then I bought them from him as he was selling his M2. I believe they were on IND's website, but only for a limited time. Parts alone for the MSport seats come to over $10K, that doesn't include cobbling them together, installation and coding (if you don't swap the seat modules)...so much cheaper (and easier) to try and find a "used" set. Just got lucky with these...

Have you checked out the original M Perf wheel that debuted (I believe)with the F80/82? It's completely covered in alcantara but retains the stock wheel dimensions and feel. I opted for this one because I don't like how the leather turns glossy after a while. Plus, most super high performance cars go the route of full alcantara. Granted, the V2 gets the nod for aesthetics.

Yeah I've seen it. I'm not a fan of full alcantara b/c the material wears out really quickly, and like you said aesthetically the V2 is just better for our interiors.
