I find it kind of strange that BMW even issued a press release for this development. I'm sure they worked with EnLighten on the integration, but this is ultimately EnLighten's product, not BMW's.
Everytime a new app or group of apps become available they issue a press release.

How about integration with Escort Live for some on screen radar detection?

Cool App but only works in Portland and Salt Lake City right now. When it comes to Seattle I'll definitely give it a go.

Only concern is...

The car behind you is using this App, the driver looking at his Nav screen and not fully ahead, you however are looking out of the windscreen, notice junction is not clear so stop.
The bloke behind you sees he has 3 seconds to cross, puts foot down and then looks out of windscreen....

Its not necessary to look at the screen it has audible tones.

I spend half of my time in Guatemala, where major crossroad traffic lights have built-in timers that can easily be seen from a distance. Really helps with anticipating traffic light changes.

Part of me is happy with this because it will encourage people to use their turn signals more often. Another part of me is very unhappy because it takes two aspects of driving away: the decisiveness of a driver to go or not go and developing basic driver's common sense.

btw just to clarify... if my car has connected drive i should have bmw apps, correct? It's a 2015 NBT system

In the US, well at least in the 19 states I been in..... there is no yellow light when switching from red to green like in Germany for instants. The answer would be No :-)

Hopefully it will integrate with the start stop system so that when I arrive at a red light the car won't turn off if the light is about to change
Now that would be something...but don't think this is going to happen anytime soon especially since its "just" a app and not integrated in the iDrive system.

That's what you should have Waze for...if you could have waze on your idrive screen everything would be graet :-) (in addition quote below)

And it has for sure the stationary radars and traffic light cameras in the system!

I'll be able to have Waze show up on my iDrive screen soon enough. Just placed an order fort the Bimmertech rear view camera with the WiFi smart phone mirroring feature that'll allow me to display Waze running on my Android phone onto the iDrive screen. Now THAT should have been something BMW should have done instead.
