By the way; you know if it is true that your M2comp has better brake cooling then the OG M2...? I never heard this before the stament in this topic. Better engine cooling (for S55) yes...but better/different brake cooling?

I will say now that my pedal feels a bit mushy after the track day so I need to either re-flush the fluid or switch to Castrol SRF. Pads + Rotors seem fine though. |

No, nor does M3/M4 IIRC.
M2C has brake ducts either side of the lower centre grille which take cooler air into the wheel well area - still needs ducting to caliper/disc to be fully effective but its much easier to do on M2C than OG M2...

Also, did a couple of high speed stops with finger tips barely touching the wheel - car pulled up straight, true and in very short distance - hazard lights set off but not enough to trigger the airbags

I have a set of XP12's and XP10s (rear pad shape is generic - same as nissan GTR) since no PFC's are available with front shape yet.
Also have rear ti shims and fronts on the way and installed the little porsche brake scoops onto the control arms. Something to consider with these giant truck brakes - you must put temperature into them gradually (warm them up) before giving it threshold treatment. They are large enough to where you can generate hot spots and crack rotors if you don't take your time getting them up to temp. Had a long call with a brembo rep about the 2NH calipers. |

Can't remember what else we talked about but it was a good hour long chat - should have taken notes. Either way - once my 19" EC7's and RE71R's come in I will thoroughly test the brakes at NCM. I am very hard on brakes so it should be a good test especially turns 1 and 10. |

The closed bridge is a downside and I hope that changing the front pads is not that time consuming

As mentioned in the thread, glad BMW made some effort at least to get a little more cooling to the brakes on the M2C. Real world significance probably moderate to minimal, but it does open up more options to route dedicated cooling without cutting and hacking.

It looks like on RealOEM they also show the ducting and how it connects, it comes from the corners of the center grill under the kidneys:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_A018 Interestingly they also show it on the pre-LCI versions but don't have a part number (and I don't think it would fit either: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_8574 |
