Wasn't there supposed to be a CSL style hole in front bumper? Scott posted an image about that from what I remember.

Yes I have not heard anything regarding a GTS. All creativity is currently on the CS.

Scott26 - are you able to say whether the M2 CS will be available in manual? Or is it destined for the same set-up as the M4 CS?

Based on how the M4 CS differs only slightly from the M4 cosmetically wise, I doubt that the M2 CS will have such a bespoke bumper...

This could be very exciting from an enthusiast point of view, the opposite of the direction they are going with the M5. |

Looks like all the press cars for the 991.2 GT3 are PDK only even though one of the biggest changes was the manual transmission. Maybe all the M2 CS press release cars will be DCT to ensure the best possible magazine lap times.

During the M2 pre-release first test drive of February 2016 all M2 cars made available by BMW to journalists to lap at Laguna Seca (California) were M-DCT + featured M Performance brake pads. Journalists only got their hands on M2 6MT for test drives on the public roads afterwards (Pacific Coast Highway).

BMW needs to take a look at this. I want a rear seat, but this would be tempting. I need more CS news.

I doubt it would be that high. The cars will be priced to market or it will not sell here. I'm guessing TTRS money starting at $65k base which is a tad below the M4 MSRP.

Even the base M4 has CF roof, nicer looking hood, much better interior, more space, more HP, more torque, better aesthetics (subjective) etc. Even if BMW puts a lower rated S55 in the M2 CS, I find it super hard to understand how they could justify 80K USD because the M4 already has the same engine with a higher output. If they made the car closer to the CSL/GTS, then 80K - 90K should be a bargain. I really thought we'd be seeing a lot more test mules (Hopefully with more camo) by this time but it would appear as if most of the testing has already been completed. No news on Ze German 2er talk either. |

nice.... There is actually a physical difference between the two cars, other than the gearboxes. Because the PDK car already has a bunch of hydraulic plumbing built in, Preuninger’s team opted to go with an electro-hydraulic locking rear differential. The manual version has no hydraulic veins, so its rear end sports a mechanical locker. Call me a Luddite, but holy damn did I prefer everything about the manual on track. Perhaps it’s because the mechanical diff locks up more slowly than the electric one, but it actually felt more rear-engined—more like a 911—than the PDK car, which feels more mid-engine and a bit more stable yet sterile. Holy hell.. Not only a manual gearbox.. but a mechanical Diff as well... Bravo Porsche! LEAD THE WAY BACK TO FUN CARS! Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 05-09-2017 at 02:53 AM.. |

I was also thinking that we'd see more mules by now. Maybe they're holding their cards close and the full kit is just not fitted to the mules we've seen? (thinking back to 1M mules that were basically a 135 with some fender flares stuck on it?...although that's not very different from how the car actually ended up). Anyone think Frankfurt Motor Show will be the announcement? September 14-24, 2017. If it's supposed to be a fall 2017 reveal, are there other shows where it could be announced? Pricing and spec should give some clues if there is room for a GTS as well.

The Camo on the M2 CS is almost identical to the M2 LCI. The car we saw with the larger wheels and brakes could have been the GTS or maybe something that BMW just wanted to test. If the testing on the M2 CS is already complete, we could see it unveiled late fall maybe. That's kind of the same time line between the last sighting of the M4 CS test mules, ad leak from California and the official unveil. SCOTT26, ynguldyn and Dackelone : Any updates or new information ?? |

The M4 CS does not arrive on the market until the last quarter of 2017.
I do not expect the next CS to be launched until the introduction of the M4 CS to the market. Breathing and establishing space is important and BMW will be having maximum focus on the M4 CS.
