Rollbar / Half-Cage

I only see 2 options for a bolt-in rollbar.

StudioRSR - Looks like a nice piece, but the main hoop seems to just bolt into the floor. I don't love that it doesn't go into a reinforced area like the seatbelt anchors.

CMS - I haven't seen the install instructions, but it claims to be bolting to reinforced areas. I don't see that available on their website any more (just an old thread here)

Does anyone know of any other options?

Don't bother with RSR unless you feel like being lied to and waiting 4+ months when they tell you it will be ready in 2 weeks. Once they get the deposit, they will cease all communication no matter how many times you email them. (When they were responding within an hour beforehand).

Fall line looks like a good option.

IND also sells the BMW Moto GP roll bar, but it isn’t cheap.

i second this.. horrible customer service at StudioRSR.. Once they take your order they ghost. If you actually do get a hold of them it's one excuse after another.

That looks very clean with the rear seat delete like that! Are those Cobra Nogaro? If so what mounts are you using and how is the angle of the harness back to the bar?

These are BMW factory F82 GTS Euro seats on factory mounts. The bar lines up well w/the seats to achieve the needed 20 degree max angle from horizontal. The seats fit my 5'11" frame nicely w/ no issues - the cross bar is at a good midpoint.

Did this require any drilling?

The seats? They are a factory bolt-in, for the most part

The CMS looks like a nice setup

However, it's not listed on their website

Anyone know if it's still available?

I mean the CMS bar
I had the bar installed by a racing shop that specializes in these set-ups. They removed the interior/carpeting and welded mounting pads into the car for the bar to bolt to. The pads are a small square of sheet steel and if one desires to remove the bar and go back to stock interior, you can unbolt and install the interior trim over the pads.

Presently installing an RSR bar. VERY well made, seems to fit (so far) very well too.

I'll be posting pix of the install later tonight. I have the x-brace that goes from the bar to the back seats in, now I'm tackling the main hoop.

How easy/fast is the install?

This probably won't be much help as I'm based in the UK, but I recently had a custom bolt in t45 steel cage made my a small shop called JP Cages in Lincolnshire. Great customer service and communication from the young lad, Josh, who owns the company and I'm extremely happy with the cage. He makes cages that comply with racing regulations in the UK. Might help some people when they want to have a custom cage designed in the US. I asked Josh to use the BMW Moto GP cage as a guideline with some tweaks.

Just need to fit my Recaro Pole Positions next 👌🏻

I see it installed in your other thread.

Can you post pics of the installation?

How about harness guide bars? I'd have those added to ensure they don't move around.

I asked lots of people about that and the consensus is that they weren't needed. As once I'm strapped in the harnesses won't be moving around on the cage enough to justify having them fitted.

I was curious as well and emailed CMS and the just responded that they aren’t currently offering it.

We have some good fabricators around here. I’ll have to look into custom, but the Fall-Line bar looks like a good backup if custom turns out to be too pricey.
