If BMW was serious about the M2 CS why did they not put in a lithium ion battery in from the M4/M3? This sheds 30 lbs alone and is readily available!

So BMW wants to charge $8,000-10,000 for a CCB option that sheds about 30 lbs when they can simply put a Lithium Ion battery in the M2 CS and shed the same weight with a simple low cost battery change??

Club Sport 'CS' = Chubby Sadness.
Yes, it is stupid to remove features like Comfort Access and not even swap the battery to the M3/M4 battery. The battery eats into profit margin, though. Disabling Comfort Access in software or firmware was already done.

So apparently it is $9k extra for DCT in Australia and $180k price. Even if I can afford this, to me, it sounds cynical. Forget it. I love my M2C anyway. I may be foolish but I'm not an idiot.

Well $85k is $125k in our money. Then we of course have "luxury tax" on top of that. I just resent a sudden $9k on what was a previously standard feature. It does not sit well at all.

Here's another front license plate with the CS stamped on it... this is from my 2020 M2C...

In The Netherlands it's the other way around: as a result of environmental tax regulations €7.722 extra is charged if you choose 6MT for an M2C instead of M-DCT.

In this case it appears to be a BMW Australia tax. The price is apparently the same as the M4cs at full retail. Unless of course the poster in the AU regional thread is winding everyone up but it seemed to be authentic.

You've got a point, and I'm sure it'd end up being cheaper to get an M2C bare bones then individually purchase all of the CS parts. I think what makes the price of a CS vehicle make sense is that all of the upgrades are included and you simply drive off the lot with a fully decked out Bimmer.

Congrats, Pol !

Black Sapphire Metallic + black 763M wheels + privacy glass: throw in a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses to go full tilt with the 'murdered out' look.

In a recent BMWBlog podcast, BMW M CEO Markus Flasch said that, personally, "all black" is his preferred color combination for the M2 CS (listen here - it's told in the first part of the podcast).

Sweet. Now that's a Black Bomber.

My father worked for Lockheed Martin and a few other Aerospace companies before he retired.

Once you go black, you never go Misano, AW, or HSM.

what do you mean? I asked my dealer a while ago and M4CS was easily crossing $220k with most options.
