Bootmod3 Online Recode Question

I was able to flash a OTS map fairly easily, but got the fuel pump malfunction after completing the flash.

I'm scratching my head here trying to get the online recode to work. I've got good wifi signal, antivirus disabled, battery charger hooked up and still getting a "flash failed" message when trying to online recode. I have a support session scheduled tomorrow but any suggestions in the meantime are appreciated.

Flash tunes looked so promising, now I reading about all these error messages that's popping up from various users..

What gives?

I hope they resolve these so-called bugs.

I've had no issues. Ran the 91 octane stage 1, and 93 octane stage 1 and 2. I DD my M2C and have had absolutely no issues other than wearing down my rear tires

The fuel error message seems common for BM3 on the first flash. Maybe it's every time? The online recode seems to fix it for most people.

The shit thing really is if something really goes wrong then what? BM3 customer service sounds like it's great though.

Windows defender off, firewall off, antivirus off. Make sure your seatbelt is on, apparently this keeps the ECUs awake? Did you try turning the car off after you got the error, closing the BM3 app, turning the ignition back on, firing up the BM3 app again, then doing online recode?

I am sure their customer service will help you!

Replug the cord into computer and into odb port. I had the same issue with multiple tries to no avail. Re-hooked it all up and then it worked perfectly. Now each time I ensure I give the odb plug a bit of a wiggle when it seats into the plug.

New to bm3 also. Ran in to that same issue the first time with my obd agent. Down loaded the latest Update for it and it works no problem

While trying to connect with tech support I was able to resolve my issue via the online recode. I went for a long drive, hooked up the charger, jiggled the cable and switched to a macbook instead of pc. One of those made the difference and all was solved in 1 minute.

Car feels great. Stage 1 with fabspeed sport cat.

What made a bigger difference the sport cat or the stage 1 tune?

Flashed the stg1 93 octane tune the other day and got the fuel system error. Doing an online recode fixed the error, though im not 100% sure what online recode does exactly. But thanks for this thread, everything is fine now.

Supposedly the latest BM3 update makes the need for potential online recoding go away.

They figured out how to not need the online recode a couple versions back. Having said that I’ve flashed countless times and never needed a recode it just worked and continues to work for me.

I had to do the online recode within the last 30 days. Wasn’t a big deal, tho, just an extra step.

So, I'm trying to do an online recode but I keep getting the error that no internet is available. I even put the router right in the garage next to the car. I'm tried multiple channels and frequencies for my internet connection. I also disabled all firewall and AV protection (Windows Defender). Still can't online recode. Any ideas?

You already tried one thing. The other is to make sure the OBD plug is properly seated.

Ya... the plug was seated fine. I woke up this morning and it worked even though I didn't change a thing. Not sure why it wasn't working yesterday.

I did my bm3 stage 1 flash today for the first time and I also got the fuel malfunction code that I wasn't able to do ONLINE RECODE. I'm using the ODB wifi agent with my phones hot spot to do this and it will say no internet connection. I've tried multiple times even after a couple drives and no luck.
