Wagner Downpipe experience

Hello,

Anyone here has installed Wagner Catted DP experience? I' in the fence between Fabspeed and Wagner, have learned lots feedbacks about Fabspeed but less Wagner. I don't want to deal with CEL and not going to flash EcU nor JB4.

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

I too am on the fence about what DP to get. I am leaning towards Fabspeed just due to the amount of good reviews and the guarantee that there is no CEL, but there are other options out there that are cheaper (FI, aFe, ER, Wagner) and I would presume due to the cat wouldn't get a CEL either. The HJS cat in the Fabspeed cant be that much better than the other options right?

Same same. I believe they all have HJS cores. Just pick whichever one you can afford and is available.

Spoke to a local shop who has sold quite a few of the wagner dps. He said he always reccomends them as they are excellent for the money. But they will always eventually throw a CEL.

Why bother with a dp if you wont tune though? Most of the gain is from the tune.

According to most of user review in Fabspeed, so far I haven't seen the people highlighted the CEL but maybe I missed something. But really like to see the actual user feedback with Wagner, i won't go Catted solution if it will have CEL eventually for sure.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one.

While I agree in part with, what I assume is, your reasoning I know of at least 8 UK M2’s all running a variety of sport cat DPs and all of them saw gains on the dyno. And the gains are pretty much the same for each vend. Yes, the 200 cell DP offered a little more torque and few extra HP.

So I can safely say from experience that even without a map a DP increase both performance and sound more without a remap than is did with the subsequent remap.

I do agree that at some point the 200 cell DP could throw a CEL (based on experience modifying other cars) but we’ve been running a fabspeed for almost a year and not had to a CEL yet.

Ps. I have no affiliation to any vendor.

Why does a 200 cell pipe "eventually throw a a CEL" ? Is there some wear that occurs over time that causes a CEL ? What to do in that case ?

I?m not sure of the science - maybe someone will be along soon to enlighten us - but any catalytic converters will eventually wear out.

I?ve had cars with sports cats that eventually threw a CEL. One did so after less than 200 miles and the other after 2 years of abuse from big boost & meth.

Am using the Fabspeed catted exhaust, not a ton of miles, but no CEL. On my 135i I used a catted downpipe from an out of business vendor, threw a CEL not longer after installation. Was using auto clear with my JB4 but ran into issues with state inspections. Added the wizardry of an electronic car simulator and now have no issues with state inspections or CEL. FWIW

We sell a lot of Wagner DP, 80-90% of our customers do not get any CEL

We also sell a lot of Fabspeed DP, so far 100% success rate

BTW we are getting a few Fabspeed DP delivered to us this week (normal wait time is 3-4 weeks)

Not the case.

Wagner doesn't use HJS core whereas fabspeed in the US and Miltek here in the UK do and neither throw a CEL.

I had BCS 140mm dia 200cpi on my m135i - no cel and not using HJS core.

Does the Wagner use an hjs cat? 200 cell? I thought I read Wagner is using a 300 cell euro 6.

Hello,
They use 200 CEL Euro 6 ... They upgraded their cats not too long ago, so far all the feedback has been positive from our customers

If he is happy with the downpipe and just wants to get rid of the light, i recommend he gets the new Wagner DP with Euro 6 200 CEL cats

When was "not too long ago"? I purchased a Wagner catted from you and it was delivered early October straight from Germany. I got a CEL after 158 miles.

The FI I read was not a hjs cat.

Imo, the only catted dp worth getting is the fabspeed one as there have been no complaints about CEL. The fabspeed one is only around $100 more than FI. I just got my Wagner dp because of a great combo deal. If I could have done it all over again I would have just gone catless though. The smell isn't that big of a deal and I already have a cel
