Just got the ECU back from ProTuningFreaks - very quick turnaround! Gonna put the car back together this weekend and my E-NET cable should arrive Monday.

Can't wait to flash the OTS tune and hear those burbles. Will have to wait until the Spring to be able to drive her unfortunately .

The ECU has to be removed from the vehicle to be unlocked. There are vendors (found on the PTF website) that can unlock the ECU in house, however none were local / remotely close to me so I had to remove the ECU and ship it off to their main HQ in Ontario.

The turnaround time once the package arrived was less than 24 hours!

Unfortunately we don't have a dealer in Melbourne at this time but Millenium Motorsports in Brisbane (Tingalpa Queensland) could take care of it. Feel free to reach out to us at sales@protuningfreaks.com and we can discuss any details further if needed

You can lose your warranty with a jb4 as well. The DME keeps a log of everything the car does and any tune or piggyback will leave shadow codes. You are no safer with a Jb4 than a tune. If they investigate a failure and read the DME they will find your car was modded even if you removed the JB4 prior to bringing it to them.

Ok lets be real.

In the past 18 months, how many M2 N55 engines or turbo got broken with or without tune?!

So far I can see that no one reported any kind of failure, like it was with S55 engine when it got out.

No any signs of a tune = bye bye warranty its not a worse scenario or not.

Don't bother with a JB4 on the N55, the motor is high strung as it is already, you need access to all the proper tuning parameters if you want to maintain the drive-ability in all scenarios for this car.

Personally I'm in the boat of not even bothering to track the car stock as the IAT's just get too high for my liking... FMIC is going on, then potentially BM3 after

Yep, everyone who had JB4 on M2 found out map1/2/5 weren't usable would crash the HPFP.
On my X4 M40i (similar M2 engine) I found power on Dyno would drop harder than stock after 5500rpm with JB4 on. After multiple Dyno sessions after each mods and BM3 I found the True Power and Smoothness came with Real Proper Flash Tuning offered with BM3.

Just wondering about the power gains of BM3 on a FBO M2. I had it on my 435i, and it was pretty obvious.

The reason I'm asking is due to friend of mine with a FBO M2 + Meth + BM3 dragging our friend who simply has a DP, CP, and air filter on his M2, and barely pulling away (max 0.5-1 car length between them).

I dont understand why this does not get more attention. Only problem I see is that you might still need meth/octane booster as octane is a problem following very closely behind volume with our high compression engines.

Can anyone share how much the ADs typically charge to remove the ECU (on N55) and unlock it? Those in NJ are closest to me. Thanks!

Typically 350-400 if you drive into a dealer or 150 if you pull it yourself and mail it in I think.

EnzoRacing in NYC/Long Island charges $300 i think for N55
The others in the area are in the $400+ range according to what I hear now.

I got my unlocked last christmas and went with 2 other cars so we got $300 but this was a year ago and prices can change.

Is there absolutely no one self tuning the N55 cars with BM3? Some of the tables still seem off to me as the legends and scaling of certain tables seem extremely exagerated and off.

As well as the fact that on my car there doesn't seem to be WGDC Base, or even Boost/Boost target. The load tables could use some additional legends also.

I知 not sure if I致e seen any BM3 OTS dynos for the M2 anywhere. Would it be possible for Stage 1 and Stage 2 dynos to be made available? I know a lot of folks like to go the custom route, but there are some who just want a once-and-done tune. Apples to apples comparison with what other tuners are doing would make things easier for consumers to see what fits their needs.

Awesome platform, btw. Very cool what you guys are doing.

Here is one done by a Taiwan friend of mine in summer of this year showing 5 consecutives runs on a 90+F, 60% humidity day, the last two of which read low probably heat soaked. His car was on Wagner Comp II IC, Decat DP and Pure Inlet on pump gas RON98(AKI93 equivalent), as optimal as is, and on an early version of OTS Stage 2.

The dyno shop clearly wasn't very good at conducting dyno runs and presenting numbers. They used a mix of imperial (hp) and matric(KG*M) scale. And the speed alignment wasn't correct either - 6100rpm should be 7000rpm in reality. This effect torque reading but hp is correct regardless.

It's worth noting that 375whp is the UNCORRECTED numbers on a hot day. STD correction would show another some 15whp making it 390whp, which is the happiest correction that most use to compare Dynojet results done on different days.

There is no benchmark runs though shop owner said M2 typically put down 330whp there (I don't think they know enough to be a good source of dyno number), so take this with a grain of salt.

Yea have the Dyno shop send over the DRF or WP8 files so you can convert it into Torque LB-Ft and STD. I'm estimating another 20whp in STD over the Uncorrected numbers

New OBD Agent updated, ver. 0.9.40, is out. If anyone had an issue with codes clear, it should now be fixed! Download through the app or link in the website, or, go here:
