The optional seats for the Audi and Merc are obviously much better. It's too bad BMW doesn't give the M2 an optional seat, but the interior of those cars is horrible. I mean you can see it in the pics themselves, but in real life, they're even worse. I love the Audi interiors, but the A/S/RS3 line is just yuck and Merc is even worse.

How about the same as the M3/M4 MPE? That'd be a fat zero gain! Doubt this would be any different.

My only gripe about this car is the seats, but I think I could deal with them considering what I would be getting for the $$$. I also did a comparison to the E46 M3 (currently own) and the M2 is 1-2 inches bigger in every dimension except bumper to bumper length and even that is a 1 inch difference. Considering I think my E46M is roomy, I think the M2 will be comfortable.

Is there going to be a front bumper diffuser/spoiler like you can get on the M235i?

M2 manual unladen weight DIN/EU: 1495 kgs/1570 kgs (3296 pounds/ 3461 pounds)

M2 DCT unladen weight DIN/EU: 1520 kgs/1595 kgs (3351 pounds/ 3516 pounds)

A difference of 25 kgs or 55 pounds between the manual and DCT

Ever sit in the seats? I dont know what seats come with the M235, but the pics look like its the same exact seats i had on my 335 M-sport. Those seats were extremely comfortable and supportive. Although it would be nice to have M exclusive seats, like in my F80 M3, i think the M2 seats are more comfortable for longer drives because it has a thicker seat cushion and thigh extenders.

I dunno...I may be in the minority, but I'm pretty satisfied with the way it looks to be optioned out. If it truly comes in at around $51k to start, I'm all in. I mean, would I want carbon fiber everything and alcantara this and that, M-performance stuff standard? Of course, but that would be cost prohibitive. And that's what the M3 GTS and supposed M2 CSL will be.

Options are exactly that, options for the buyer to choose (and pay for). Ever option out a Porsche online? You can build a $130k Macan

Just 2 cents. or nickel...or dime..

Mark my words.....in no way shape or form is anybody touching an m2 for 51k. Not happening, dealers will rape people to the max for this one too.

I didn't say 51k was what the dealers would be asking; I meant what listed MSRP would be. Sorry if that was unclear...

And could you blame them? What would YOU charge people for something that the entire interweb is going nuts over? Supply and demand.

Wow, an MPE already! I knew they'd mute the stock exhaust and offer their primo sounding exhaust for a chunk. I'm guessing it'll probably cost ~$3K.

Exactly. Some of these guys are making it sound like they're sitting on a bar stool or something. The seats on the M235i are very damn good.

If there's one thing BMW is good at recently , it's seats (at least the sporty ones). My buddy had a 991 ($100k+ car) and the seats were horrid.
