That's odd... The 1200 mile service should have been done at VPC, not your dealer for an ED car. On my previous F80 and a lot of the guys on this forum, the 1200 mile service was done at VPC. Mine is currently in customs and when I asked the BMW ED department about the next steps, they confirmed that it should be done at VPC before going to the dealer.

Not saying your wrong or your dealer is lying, just seems odd to me, though possible.

tracking my car has been a Roller coaster after it landed in LA. I ordered from a Chicago dealer. The Bay Area dealer who first accepted the courtesy delivery then flaked at the last moment. So the dealer was going to get it shipped to him and then ship it back to my door step. I kept badgering him to find a dealer in California where I could pick up from. Finally he said one in san Diego has accepted and the car is en route to him from LA. I am still waiting for a date when I can pick it up.

And mine has not crossed 1200 miles yet afaik. Its around 1000 and I asked him to see if he can get the 1200 mile service done at the pickup dealership.

I think I know a bit of your story as the sales manager at my dealer relayed a similar story to me while we were working through my issues. This is a crappy situation.

Based on how my dealer was handling me, I can assure you they were trying hard to make this work. While we were looking for suitable replacements for my M2C, in case I decided not to accept my repaired one, we found one at a dealer in the Los Angeles area. They made many phone calls to this dealer, who never returned calls even after BMWNA intervention.

I hope things start looking up soon.

Our F80 has it done at 940 miles at VPC. I believe if it's within 300 miles of the 1200 mile service they will do it at VPC from what I have been told by a few people.

My oil change was done at the Dealer and NOT VPC when it arrived from to the dealer from the port from my ED.

Interesting. Good data point. I wonder if there is a logic to it or not. Thanks!

I racked up ~800 miles on my ED trip and wondering if they are going to complete the break-in service at the VDC, where I'm told it just arrived. I think I'd prefer they didn't and get it done closer to the 1,200 miles, but I guess we'll see here pretty soon.

I went over 1200 miles as I couldn't get an appointment set up during ED...service done automatically at the VPC.
