Change downpipe,louder crackle?

Hey guys

From New Zealand, Just bought my BMW M2, definitely enjoy the car! especially the traction mode rolling on the street with pops and crackles

Just a question want to ask.

By only changing the downpipe and leave the exhaust stock, will it make louder pops and crackles?

Yes. That's the way mine is and it's louder. Fabspeed sport cat is my only change to my exhaust.

I started with the FB sport cat, then added a Dinan midpipe and then Dinan free flow. Each time wanted a little more sound and now it's perfect for me. However, just the DP is a nice upgrade in sound and burbles too. Add a BM3 tune and it's even better.

Downpipe crakles

I went with the VFSR catted DP on my 2015 M235i. I noticed a significant change in the exhaust note under acceleration, but also when decelerating I get much more crackles from the exhaust. Not overblown like too many cars I have heard but just about right in my book.

Is the Dinan midpipe different than the resonator delete?

Sounds like a good mod-path, got any videos of the sound of your car?

I have stock exhaust and Akra DP w/Sport-Cat, 100% pops and crackles got louder after install, and exhaust note overall got a bit deeper, throatier, and meaner.

Have had this on for over 40k miles now, and each time I pass under a bridge or through a tunnel, the obligatory "shall we hear the sound of my people" ceremony is perfomed.

The kids love it, almost as much as I do!

If have a Wagner decat and an MPE. The pops and bangs on mdm mode are just insane!
