Let's talk shift knobs! Post your knob experience!

Do you have a shift knob that you like? Post pics and a purchase link!

I'm looking for something slightly shorter than stock, ideally not metal as I think that will get very hot in the summertime.

I also like knobs that arent round, oddly enough. One of my favorite shifte knob shapes is the ///M knob in my e90 like shown below:

Raceseng has caught my eye because they have an adapter that you put on the shaft that is adjustable in height. Does anyone have experience with this company?

Thanks!

I never really liked OEM

Last couple months I was running the BMW Performance one and really liked it - way shorter throw and felt very direct (pictured here)

Gonna try out the LCI M Performance one next

Thats reassuring. Do you know if you install a raceseng knob is the process reversible or do you have to do something destructive to separate the stock knob from the boot?

Thanks!

Go try it out! It’s super cheap for an OEM part - part number 25110429269

You can take off, or put the OEM knob on easily. There is nothing to worry about...

There are some melted plastic tabs on the stock knob that hold it to the boot. They can be carefully separated so that nothing is ruined.

I didn't take any "in progress" pics but this is what they look like when you're done

I used Loctite plastic glue to put it back together. No issues

I just used a couple blobs of hot glue in case I ever want to do it again. Doesn't really need anything at all as the top of the shift level and the shift knob will hold it fine.

I find the MP carbon shift knob makes the shift action MUCH better, but it's quite unfriendly feeling compared to the stock knob, and took some getting used to. I'm still not 100% sold on it, but keep it for the shift action alone.
