Outlet size for Remus exhaust?

Hey everyone. I’ve ordered a Remus Sport axle back on my M2cs, but I don’t like their tip options so I’m going to go after-aftermarket!

Does anyone know the precise OD of the Remus muffler outlets (ie not the tips, but the exhaust piping)?

Thanks!
-Ash

EDIT:
For posterity, these are the minimum and maximum OD's I measured across my Remus Sport axleback's four outlets: 59.49mm/2.342” to 60.35mm/2.376”. The ID that I spec’ed the custom tips to, which worked perfectly, is 2.38”.

I'm uploading an image of the CAD file I provided to the exhaust manufacturer for my custom tips. On their advice, I adjusted the ID of the inlet to best mate to the Remus exhaust. Feel free to steal these specs, but the usual disclaimers apply (YMMV, etc.)

They make it small specifically so no other tip will slip on. 70mm.

please note the tips you linked to are not original REMUS style and won't fit on a REMUS exhaust.
those sizing is for the stock exhaust

I had heard that the Remus pipe outlet (to tip inlet) is either 60mm or 63mm... do you happen to know?

Thanks

Im not too sure but I know their exhaust requires REMUS tips. A lot of customers try to get their own tips to make fit, but they almost always come back and buy REMUS tips.

Why would there be any incompatibility if you get the right inlet size? Honest question, not pushback.

Thanks

It's a simple thing for any decent exhaust shop. My friend did his the correct way (sleeved) and he isn't even an exhaust specialist.

Im not too sure to be honest, as long as the outlet and tip length match, you should be good

That looks great. Was the modification to the tips simply welding on the notched 70mm ID sleeves?

I'm specifically looking at tips that already have that provision, which is why the only spec I really need is that Remus OD. If you say it's 70mm then that's what it is! Thanks.

70mm is the stock exhaust outlet size, not Remus. Id be interested in knowing what the Remus Race outlet size is. If it's smaller, then a sleeve is pretty simple fix to adapt a 70mm tip on. If it's larger, then that's a bigger problem.

Like I said, I've heard it's 60 or 63mm, so I really want to know too. There are a lot of great options out there in that ID range.

Obviously I will measure it once I get the exhaust but that's not going to be for a while.

I sent M2pilot a PM asking what they measured for OD on the remus outlets. Will post up here if I hear back.

Actually, looking closer at the second photo, it appears that the diameter of the spare tubing used is 2.5" which is indeed ~ 63mm.

I think it's slightly smaller than that though, maybe 61 or 62. As I said, it's made specifically so no one can bolt their exhaust tips onto the Remus exhaust.

Yeah, in that case, sleeving would work nicely. I'll confirm once I have everything in hand.

Yeah, I completely botched that. I had too many links open.

Stock exhaust OD (where the tip meets the pipe): 70mm
MPE exhaust OD (where the tip meets the pipe): 67mm
Remus exhaust OD (where the tip meets the pipe): 61mm

At least that's what I have in my spec-sheet.

Sorry, didn't read that right. The tubing is 2.5", but notches were cut to allow it to crush/deform a bit to the Remus pipe which is a bit smaller.

FWIW I will be looking into something along these lines (not necessarily these tips, but they are a good example).

I just found a potentially awesome USA-made option. I’ve emailed them to see if they can make me a 2.5” to 3.5” single wall tip set (their standard outlet size for a 2.5” inlet is 3” which I think is actually the same as the OEM tip size).

Will keep the thread updated!

Looks like they are open to custom specs too. I’ve provided them a CAD drawing and am awaiting pricing. Two week lead time, which is not bad at all. More to come…

$75 per tip - to *my custom specs*. I’m placing an order. Could be a game changer for all those stupid, overpriced branded advertisements that exhaust manufacturers are forcing us to buy.
