Wow, that price is amazing and is truly a gift from BMW... $59,000 US base.

Interesting...

Surprisingly spring and damper rates are unchanged – M chief Frank van Meel said he wanted to improve precision without sacrificing comfort. The dampers are passive items, because ‘the car doesn’t need adaptive dampers’, according to van Meel, although cost is also a factor.

It's uncanny.

http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/pol...ts&pollid=9219

Praising everything about the car and ignoring all the fails about it.

Lets offer some balance.

Gross grill.
Exhasut can growth.
Design of the front fascia not inline with rest of car.
Bad sound.
Ugly wheels.
Heavier.

Now. Balance restored.

lol i think bmw is catering to the average folks who don't know or care about engine models. it always seems to be about $700-$1000 more for the next model year. But i bet we'll be gouged with the optional seats and brakes being thrown into packages. Other than the engine, i really like the mirrors and carbon strut brace coming standard. That strut brace is probably standard because of the heavier engine right?

Wheels and tire sizes match the outgoing M2, which means 19-inch wheels front and rear, wrapped in mildly staggered tyer sizes of 245/35 R19 and 265/35 R19 Michelin Pilot super Sport rubber is standard, though customers will be able to select other tyres.

I wanna see the "Team $10k+ markup" too I kept saying from the beginning that the starting price would be less than $60k.

Worrying. Fixing the wayward rear end on bumpy roads was high on my list of things BMW needed to do for the M2 Competition. But as long as its got M-Mirrors

Still going to trade my current M2 in though!

So much for being able to put the power down better than the F80

Very last page on the bottom, it says 47,260 EU converted to US is approximately $59,000. But each country has different pricing and standard equipment but it should not fluctuate too much. Considering this is the base price, options could add another 5 - 10 K.

The grill's ugliness is actually growing on me. It's growing uglier! I'm really thinking that design is going to be dropped in a year or two.

I think the front fascia is not bad but i agree that it fits less with the overall bulldog stance that the m2 has.

There's no way to get away from that sound i guess since everything looks to be pulled directly from the m3/m4.

The regular 437m will probably still be available. Does anyone know if the bigger brakes will fit the 437m?

I think the weight gain will negate some of the extra hp. Maybe those 0-60 times being just a little bit quicker are accurate after all.

I don't think you can say that yet, because the equipment and specification levels vary by country. Even if it turns out to be true, that's still more than a 10% increase from the LCI when it was introduced.

UPDATE: Where did you get the $59,000? My currency converter says $47,260 British Pounds converts to $67,377 USD and 58,278 Euros.
