Yeah I was just about to say, it won't work unless it was coded.

Tag, can you go into more detail about this?

What app do we need for this?

Either way, on the BMW none of that works, in the US, for me at least.
Hmm, i feel like holding unlock rolls down the windows on the M2 even in U.S. cars. I'm pretty sure i've had this happen to me on accident. The sunroof started to open too if i'm not mistaken.

Interesting.

You think the price of a simple BT OBD device has anything to do with the "changing a checker box"(there isnt much real code altering going on)?

I use Carly with their own adapter. But I have used first gen carly with a elm327 10$ for my e87 and it worked just as good.

Absolutely not. You could do it for much less, 60 is the high end.

Yep, holding the unlock rolls down the windows. Confirmed.

I was under the impression you needed the specific dongle. I have an ELM 327 Bluetooth OBDII adapter I use to read and clear codes. Wonder if this would work? I was also under the impression that being on Android meant I had to use a different app? Idk, haven't looked much into it.

It wont go with elm anymore, not carly anyways. But it did in the early stage.

I am lazy to open my carly adapter to see whats different from elm327.

I would just check the bimmer code app and it lists which ODB11 adapters are supported. I used an old e-sys one I had laying around. It connected via Ethernet and just used the Ethernet to iPhone cable. Bimmer code will work with Android phones as well.

I think this is cool, but I'm cautious with folding the mirrors because of my E93. The mirrors would alway be slightly off after being folded all the time. So I don't think I've ever folded the F87s mirrors because of it, haha, I'm weird.

When you say it looks "off" in how the folded mirror sort of looks like it's only half-way against the glass, instead of flat, like the standard folder mirrors below?

If that's what you're referring to, that's not really a flaw, pre se but more of a design flaw.. I see a few mentioning this perceived imperfection and it's silly to believe that BMW possible missed such flaw, in two generations, instead of it being an obvious physical limitation in design, not allowing it to crease any further.

I kinda like the mirrors unfolded. It creates separation between my cars and the people squeezing between cars with their handbags and grocery bags

That isn't going to stop an accident from occurring. People can bump into them or open a door into them or drive into them. I forgot to fold my mirrors on my e92 once and came back from the store to find one of them damaged. I would definitely suggest folding them in each time you park.

Just buy the app and the dongle, trust me. It costs the price of one tank of gas and will fix a plethora of annoyances such as the navigation warning, seat belt chimes and so much more.

A thing that bothers a little is the 'poor' folding angle. I expected the M2C mirrors to fold closer towards the side windows, the way these do on an M2. If M2 mirrors are used as 3/3 reference, then I estimate M2C mirrors stop folding at ± 2/3.

Negative. When the mirrors folded back out to the normal open position, they didn't return all the way. Its like the motor wasn't keyed correctly to the position they should be in or a tooth was broke on the mechanism? That car is long gone though.

Hmm.. I can't say I ever experienced or heard about this issue.. But it sounds like a defect within that specific mirror..

No it doesn't. Worst case is that your codings get wiped out with an idrive software upgrade at the dealership. But you can always restore them from backup inside BimmerCode.
