Comfort access
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Just find it interesting. It’s a great feature don’t get me wrong, but not something I would spend that much time and money adding lol. |

Never heard of any CS with comfort access. I never missed it in the end. Made getting into the car a more intentional act (that’s how I justified it to myself

Can you post some pics? Interested to see it.
I explicitly asked about comfort access when considering a build order CS, but it came back as unable to install. Something about the bits taken out in a CS meant that it was physically not possible. So if you have it, it’s definitely a retrofit and I am very intrigued as to just how much work would have gone into it. Would have needed Comp CPU and loom amongst other things… I really thought I would miss comfort access but didn’t. As per others, it kind of makes it more of a special event to take the CS! Cheers |

I took a photo of the door handle on both the passenger and driver side (and one of the back to show it’s a CS lol). Still finding it hard to believe someone went to the trouble. I watched a few videos and the process seems very expensive and cumbersome!

It sounds stupid, but coming from the Comp with comfort Access, it really did take me a bit to get used to not being able to tap the door handle to unlock. Especially with a toddler in 1 arm and his bag in the other.
The first week or two with my CS, there were certainly a few, "dammit, why?" moments. Quote:
That really does seem like an extensive job to undertake.

That was one of the mods I did. I got the gts style lights and had a custom order to have the blue start up sequence coded red…so basically, much better 👍 other than that, just spacers, and the m-performance winglets. But a lot more to come.

I think about doing it all the time... then I remember how much it is to add a feature on a car I don't daily drive in.

Pointless addition. Takes about two weeks to forget it ever existed. I also rather like that the remote lights stuff up. Such lovely headlights on the F series. Pressing a button is not that hard.

Yeah, it would be nice to have, but only because I drive the X5 most days and I sometimes forget the CS doesn’t have it. I’ve pulled the handle while locked no less than a dozen times over 2+ years forgetting that it won’t unlock automatically.
It’s a very small inconvenience, and if I drove it everyday I wouldn’t even think twice about it. Still pretty cool that your CS was retrofitted at someone else’s expense. |

I definitely miss it in the beginning as my f82 I daily drove for 4 years had it. But you're right, now I don't even think twice about it. Still, would be nice to have and can't imagine it saved that much weight did it?

I’d imagine there’s some R&D with the increased power over the F87C plus the tuning of the adaptive suspension. 763M wheels and Cup2s. I’d bet that the F87C profit is higher simply due to volume. I don’t recall anything marketing “comfort access delete” as a weight savings pitch. |
